[justify]Time was moving fast this semester and Professor Harrington could hardly believe the semester was coming to a close. She dearly hoped her fourth years were already preparing for their test at the end. Waiting for the students to arrive and sit down Sarah took sometime to gaze up out the large windows in the classroom. Perfect for viewing the stars all the way up here in the Astronomy Tower. The kids arrived and she turned her gaze back towards them. "Good Evening students! I hope you all are prepared for finding that paper clip we sent into our black hole last week." "So what happens to all this stuff that gets trapped in a black hole? Well, it is ejected in a white hole, now this is only an assumption as White Holes are not proven to be real, however there always has to be an equal to everything to balance out the universe." Sarah paused a moment for the students to catch up. "This theory was founded by a wizard astronomer named Dame Emily Bishop, who gave extensive dedication to astronomy, but you will learn more about Emily in your seventh year if you decide to do astronomy NEWT," Sarah said with a smile, Emily Bishop being one of her favorite astronomers. "Ok so, that paper clip, we are now going to bring it back from the 'void'." Professor Harrington stated as she pulled out her wand. With a wave the black hole appeared once again, with another flourish of her wand the black hole changed to a bright white hole, that was emitting tons of light into the room. The paper clip flew out and landed on a desk of one of the student's. "Oh, well there we are! The black hole into a white hole which releases all of what the black hole had been pulling into it. Now, time for the lesson has come to an end so once your notes are finished you may leave the classroom," Sarah said with another big grin, the entire event had been rather exciting and she hoped the students had thought it was as well. October made her way up to the Astronomy tower with some apprehension. As fascinating as last week's lesson had been, it was a little concerning, and she was worried about the danger of a real black hole being brought into the classroom. She was anxious to see the machine that had created the astral body last week back in the Astronomy classroom but took her seat near the front anyway, hoping her eagerness to learn wouldn't put her in any danger. She took notes as Professor Harrington explained the theory of how black holes worked, wondering where white holes output would go, if nobody had ever seen one. She wrote down the name of the astronomer in question, wanting to do more reading on her own time. If it would help her be extra prepared for NEWT year, that was just an added bonus. October was a little confused when, despite the claim that this was purely theoretical, Professor Harrington managed to create the exact effect she had described. If the machine had created a real black hole, surely being able to create a real white hole would at least go some way towards proving the theory? Utterly perplexed, October underlined her note to research this theory more. Once class had finished she packed her things up and headed out, determined to find out more about this. |
