Patriarch of the Zhefarovich Family, Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor, Slytherin Head of House, Former Death Eater, Legilimens, Occlumens

Professor Styx entered the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom and leaned against the desk to face the newly announced seventh years. They were the oldest of the students, and having been here from the moment that they stepped foot into the school, he knew what they looked like and how they were by now. Every single one of them actually. After they all seated and ready to begin, Professor Styx narrowed his onyx eyes and knew that this year was going to be one hard year for them. He remembered having some difficulty in it as well. Professor Styx could handle it now, and he was teaching it to others. Professor Styx greeted the class, "Morning, students. You all know how important this year is, so I will not remind you of how crucial it all is."

It would be wasting his breath to remind them of their NEWTs. "In case some of you transferred in, I am Professor Styx, Head of the Slytherin house, and I will be teaching you about Advanced Defence Work Theory. You all will be learning about Inferi, Dementors and Lethifolds. We will also be continuing your work in magic without the normal means, however unlike last year, you will be performing wandless magic after the previous year's of nonverbal magic." Professor Styx gazed over the class for a moment and continued, "It will be hard, and not all of you will succeed on your first try. It costs a lot of concentration and power to perform wandless magic." Professor Styx did not really want to tell them about the NEWT and what it would cover, and he figured that he would not have to tell them as other professors may have already.

Professor Styx gazed over the seventh years, the oldest in the school before he narrowed his eyes. They were going to be loaded with schoolwork, and not just from him, but from other professors as well. These exams were the worst in their years, and if they had not dropped of their unneeded courses, the workload would have killed them. The former Death Eater said, "Class dismissed." He waved at the doors and they opened, allowing the seventh years to leave for the time being. Their work has just begun.

Assignment: Roleplay the lesson. Before posting, make sure you are on the approved list. If you transferred in, message me for approval to post.

Charlotte had come back to Hogwarts more than ready to take on her NEWTs. She couldn't believe how fast her time at Hogwarts had gone and now she was heading into one of the most important years of her life. It meant that she had to work hard and continue to be a role model to the other students, especially with her new role as head girl which made her even more nervous for the year to come. Luckily, things were starting to look fine with Daniel and Charlotte was thankful for him forgiving her. This kept her in good spirits as she packed everything she needed for the day, happy that everything was going well and positive that it would continue to.

The Head Girl entered the Defence Against The Dark Arts classroom and took her usual seat in the room. The professor did not fail to remind the students that it was a serious year for them. Charlotte took notes as his cold voice filled up the room, adding to the seriousness. Her mouth fell open when he told them that they had to learn how to do spells without their wands and she wondered how that was even possible. What was the point of owning a wand if you didn't use it? Nonetheless, the girl packed everything away at the end of the lesson and headed straight out of the classroom, hoping that it wouldn't be as hard as what the professor made it out to be.

struggling artiste | class of 2046, former head boy

Tholomyes had been honored by the appointment that he had been given, if he had been honest, he had definitely thought he wouldn’t get it. He had good grades, and he was involved, but he was far less involved than others. He felt like he had been the wrong choice but was ultimately happy to have been picked. His new badge was shining as it was attached to his uniform. His gaze couldn’t help but move to it as he got ready for the day of classes. He was certainly going to be able to easily take on the new duties that he had. He felt confident in himself. The seventh year gathered what he would need for this upcoming day, placing them his recently empty bag and tried to figure out what he might need for his classes, in this, his final year of school. It was daunting, the NEWTs, but he felt sure that he could manage it, after all he had managed the OWLs with little to no problem. Theo was sure to grab his wand before leaving the dorm room.

Tholomyes walked into the defence against the dark arts classroom and found the seat he'd been taking all six years in this class. He was relatively pleased that this was the final year of classes of this class specifically. WHile he had enjoyed learning all that he had from the class, the professor was a lot and the teen wasn't that interested in what they were teaching. The head boy looked up at the professor as the man got started, of course repeating all the important information from all the years and finally getting on to what they would be doing. Advanced defence work theory didn't seem too interesting, but he couldn't help that it would be practical to know about such things. He didn't know if he'd ever come across any but he didn't much care. What surprised him more was the fact they'd been doing wandless magic, that seemed absurd to him, non-verbal magic sure, but wandless magic was something else entirely, it wasn't possible? It couldn't be possible? Why did they use wands if it wasn't necessary. It was these thoughts that lingered in his brain as he packed up his things and left the class.

Compulsive liar | class of 2046 | professional rockstar

The seventh year slytherin had no idea why on earth she had decided that remaining at school would be a good idea. It just wasn’t, here she was again getting ready for classes she didn’t like, nor did she really believe that she would need because she didn’t want her brother to be alone while he was at school. Thus, here she was again, getting ready for the first week of classes, for classes she did not enjoy, having to do work she would not enjoy, all in all just disappointed that she was stuck in this school again with no recourse to get out. Maybe by the summer break he would realise that it was silly to be stuck in this place when they were of age and able to go out to do just about anything in the world. Where they could move about, where nothing was the limit. The slytherin grabbed her books throwing them haphazardly into her bag, she made sure to treat her wand a little better before walking out of the dorm room and heading to the classroom. She was sure that it wouldn’t be a bad year, at the very least the end was in sight, but it was annoying given that she didn’t necessarily need to be there.

This was the only class that Rome even remotely liked, she didn't like Styx, but she knew she needed to do well in the class, if nothing else this was the important class, this was her most important class. She needed to do well in this. With that said Rome took her seat in the room and turned her attention to the front where the man was beginning. God she would not miss him and his idiot manner of being. She was going to be so happy when this man wasn't someone she had to see on a nearly daily basis, but since she wanted to do well in the class, she listened along to what they would be covering in this year and much to her disappointment this would be all they'd be covering in this this lesson. It seemed like a bit of joke, the professor had pressed so hard the important of this year and yet this lesson had been such a short one. But Rome wasn't going to consider it any further and just packed up her things and left the room. Maybe future lessons would be a little more interesting.
