Michelle waited for her class to show up. Today was going to be a very day so she hoped that her students would show up on time. She heard noises outside the door, she waved her wand letting them enter. Once her students had taken their seats the door snapped shut. She waved her wand then a perfect miniature model of the solar system floated around her. The blackboard moved to the front of the class, On it was their notes for today. "Take notes you have until the bell rings." Michelle said as she played with the solar system trying to change the way the planets orbited the sun.

The Planets A Closer Look

A few facts about Mercury: It is the closest planet to the sun and has no atmosphere at all. It is a planet of the most freaky weather you would find anywhere. During the day if you visited the world you would surely cook and burn to death, however, if you visited at night because the planet moves so slowly you could freeze to death it gets so cold. Mercury has no moons, so it's alone in life.

Venus is a not very beautiful planet to look at. It is covered in a thick, dense cloud that makes it so no one can see the surface. This cloud traps much of the sun's heat, which isn't very nice, would you like to be kept locked in a cage? Venus has the hottest temperature out of all the planets. However, it is still similar in many ways to Earth. The big difference between Earth and Venus, however, is the atmosphere makes planet far too hot to sustain life.

So far the Earth is the only one we know that carries life in this universe. It's temperature weather and other things keep us alive. The earth has one moon (called Luna), which is depressing really. Earth is so alone.

Mars is Earths “Sister Planet”. It was called that because it has mild temperament much like earth. It is the most similar to Earth out of any other planet analyzed. Mars has much higher mountains and way deeper canyons then earth. Mars also has the Solar Systems largest Volcano called “Olympus Mons”. Mars has 2 moons Deimos and Phobos.

Jupiter is the biggest planet in our solar system. It is visible in our night sky with the naked eye. It is the fifth planet from the sun and about 318 times larger than Earth. It is twice larger than ALL the other planets combined. It has an equator that is 11 times wider than the Earth. Jupiter has the most circular orbit out of all the planets however because it is so far away, it takes 12 years to complete one rotation around the sun.

Saturn is the 6th planet from the sun. It is smaller than Jupiter but its rings are a vision to witness. It is the second largest planet in our solar system it is extremely less Massive then Jupiter.

Uranus is the 7th planet from the sun. It is the 3rd largest planet in our solar system. It takes 84 years to orbit our sun. Uranus's axes unusually like on the same plane as the Solar System (as if it was knocked over). It too has a faint ring of rings. (confusing)

The Eight planet on our list and the 8th farthest from the sun. Neptune is the farthest of all four gas giants. It is not much smaller than Uranus but is denser. Like all the other gas giants Neptune has a very fast rotation and takes 16 Earth hours it has a slow orbit and takes 164 earth days.

Pluto was discovered by accident in 1930 by Clyde William Tombaugh. Astronomers had begun to search for a new planet beyond Neptune after calculations of this planet's orbit predicted the existence of a large mass beyond it. And before the error in the calculations had been realized, Pluto had already been discovered. The name was suggested by an 11-year-old witch from Oxfordshire, England.

Michelle stopped playing with the model. She waved here wand then the model was gone. Michelle cleared her throat. "Alright to those who are done go ahead and pack away your things your free to go. The rest of you can stay until your finished." Michelle said. "One more thing before I forget. No homework tonight just study." Michelle said as her student finished their notes packed their things away and left.

Homework:
RP the lesson and take notes

Astronomy wasn't getting any easier to attend as the year progressed. Kauri was sleepy as he made his way up the stairs, sleepy as he settled down in his seat, and sleepy as he listened to the Professor explain what they were going to be doing today. Taking notes. He had to suppress a groan - taking notes was the hardest thing to stay awake for. He didn't want to get a bad grade, but Kauri was struggling to keep his eyes open, yawning constantly as he scratched feebly at his parchment.

Notes

Kauri jerked awake with a start as people around him started packing up their things. Whoops. There was ink all over his parchment, and half of his cheek, where he had dozed off on his notes. Embarrassed, he scrambled to finish off the notes.

Notes cont.

Having taken about all the notes he was going to manage when he was this tired, Kauri scrawled a note to himself to look the planets up properly when he was more awake, though most of the lesson had been things he had already covered in his muggle primary school. Exhausted and still yawning, Kauri packed up his notes and headed out for some much needed sleep.
