Not wishing to waste any time, Eduardo quickly instructed his small class to touch the port key as they had with their first class together. Once they all had the man did as well and they all arrived in Stonehenge. Quite literally they were inside the area bordered off for the public but muggles never noticed a group of wizards appear within the stone circle thanks to muggle ignorance and a spell that must have been placed on it. When his students had all stopped looking around them and put their attention back on the lecture he was to give, Professor Orbon smiled and said, "Welcome to Stonehenge." He knew that they may have studied this in previous History of Magic classes but as with everything to do with his classes it was all in relation to Astronomy as it should be. He allowed them to get comfortable, even to sit and take out their writing tools to take notes as this would be on their exams, this year and in the next if they continued their education with Astronomy as he hoped they would. "You might know of the muggle understanding that Stonehenge is meant to align with the Summer Solstice however all muggle beliefs related to this are wrong," Eduardo said. He hoped that his correction of this wouldn't lead his students to believe he didn't have a great respect for juggles because he did, their understanding of the world was just different than theirs was. "Lord Balmoral discovered that Stonehenge is a particularly stunning bit of wizarding architecture," Eduardo began. "You should know that the stones came from Wales and this is the reason." He waved his wand with a small incantation and the stones shifted so that they could all see the use of the structure. Not long after he had there were lights in the sky directly related to Stonehenge. "The Druids created a giant magnifying glass and if you look now you can see the stars with more clarity." Eduardo finally said, "Take some time to use your star charts and see which constellations you can best see now. There is no homework so we will leave for Hogwarts in a half hour. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask." Eduardo smiled at them as he surprised them all with warm drinks and cookies of both vegan and non-vegan variety. He hoped that this would make the cool air more pleasant. Homework Task 1. RP the lesson 2. Make some notes Astronomy,6,2 |
