After all the students had arrived to class Eduardo smiled and said, "Welcome Sixth Years. I trust you are all well rested after your OWLs." He smiled at a student who seemed to pale at the mention of them, feeling only sympathy for them. "If you're not, I expect you'll miss out on a lot of fun as each lesson this year we will be going on field trips. Even today so we must not waste any time," he said hoping to bypass the excited chatter that would inevitably ensue from the children at the idea of spending no time in the classroom and being allowed to do so. When he felt that they could hear him again as he wasn't a fool enough to expect there would be an air of excitement with the announcement. He was happy to see their joy and he, too, smiled. "I expect all of you to behave above and beyond Hogwarts expectations. You see, I believe you can be better than the minimum. Don't disappoint me," he warned before instructing them all to circle around a globe shaped port key. It was a little joke as they were to be travelling so much.

Once all of his students were touching the porkey, so too did Professor Orbon and he landed easily whereas some students still struggled. He felt for them but there was no time as they had to learn about the Trojan War. Quickly gathering them, Eduardo began to speak, "Class we're in the ancient city of Troy the site of a ten year long war." As much as the man loved to talk about history of the constellations he did not want his class believing that they were attending History of Magic instead of Astronomy so he began, "The constellation Sagittarius, which is represented by a centaur with Sagitta the arrow," Eduardo gave a small pause to ensure his students were making the appropriate notes before continuing, "Is said to have guided his arrow towards the Greeks to stop their attack on the city during the Trojan War." As they were hidden away from muggles, the Professor waved his wand so that Sagittarius was depicted doing so, with all the stars in the right spots as they moved before they faded away as if they had never been there. "King Priam's son, Paris, was asked to judge a beauty contest between goddesses Aphrodite, Athena and Hera. Unable to choose, the goddesses bribed him and Aphrodite promised him the love of the most beautiful woman on Earth," Professor Orbon said before sharing quite the plot twist on the historical subject. "However Helen was married already to Menelaus which caused the Trojan War because Paris and Aphrodite made her fall in love with him. Let's just say it was a less than ideal elopement as it caused the death of many."

As Eduardo's spiel had ended the man clapped his hands together and looked at his watch at once. "This is our lecture today but you are free to explore Troy for the next two hours." Before letting the class free he added, "If anyone misbehaves we will all return immediately and I will have to reconsider this years curriculum." He hoped this was enough of a warning especially as he put on his best menacing voice because he was being totally truthful and sometimes worried that people might not take him as such. With that done he waved them off so they could enjoy their short trip. However time flies when students are having fun so Professor Orbon took them all back with the same Portkey back to the Astronomy classroom and dismissed them as he pleased.

struggling artiste | class of 2046, former head boy

[justify]Tholomyes' smile and therefore joy over Emma seemed unfading, unfading in a way he was not yet sure how to deal with. The prefect knew that eventually he would be able to get over it, that he would be able to just enjoy her company without smiling like crazy, that his pessimistic mind would once more take over, but he was enjoying it, and a part of him hoped it would never fade. He was thinking of just that as he made his way through the school, heading out of the ravenclaw common room and to the astronomy classroom. He didn't expect much excitement from the first week, but at the very least they were now NEWT students, so maybe there would be a little more work surely. The teen arrived at the class, just as the professor allowed them into the room. He took his usual spot in the room, but saved a space next to him just in case Emma was in this class.

The professor wasted no time in beginning his class. Theo didn't know what kind of school trips they could take with astronomy, but perhaps this year of astronomy wouldn't be too bad. The thought of going out and about with the class it would be fun surely. The teen didn't think they would need to take a note of that, that or the expectations. The boy was surprised when they were literally going on a trip that day. The boy gathered around the globe with the rest and took a hold of the portkey with the rest of them. Tholomyes looked at the professor as he began the lesson talking about the city of Troy, the one they were in currently, the war between the two sides. However the lesson twisted towards the stars, which he liked. He didn't really understand why they would be covering history outside of history, but he figured since the actors were gods and goddess were also stars. The boy took a few notes of what the man was saying, but he smiled when they were able to just wander around. The teen did so. He walked around for the two hours. It was a beautiful place, it was fun, so much fun. He loved it, the teen enjoyed this, visiting a town, that and it made him think of home, of Paris, of Brussels. It was nothing like those places but still, it was fun. Eventually the teen was able to go back to the class.

Rome's twin • Introverted

[justify]Cairo was glad to return to classes for the sake of learning all he could about magic although that did not mean he was happy to return to school for any other reason. Rather than craving a routine and organization in the way he was used to, he instead wanted to do everything on a whim. He figured this was a lingering affect of his travels over the holidays. All in all his mind was more open than it had ever been from a horde of new experiences and the Slytherin figured this would translate to excelling with his education even if he did not want to return to a school routine and was already used to achieving high marks.

Cairo entered his astronomy classroom, nodded to the professor and then sat down quietly, choosing a space at the back of the room. He half expected his semester to be filled with lectures although he was surprised when the professor said most of the lessons would be field trips. This idea piqued his interest as traveling was a newly discovered love of his and mixing that with education he was sure would be a recipe for success and having fun while achieving success, at that. Cairo contained his excitement as the professor revealed a port key, and quickly stepped forward to touch it so he was whisked away with the rest of the class. When his feet landed on firm ground Cairo momentarily held his hand over his stomach though he quickly found his bearings and watched in awe of his surroundings. The city of troy, notorious for the legend of the Trojan horse and the entirety of the Trojan war he only previously knew from books. Seeing the city itself was a new and welcomed experience that Cairo reveled in. He listened intently to the professor's words about the history of troy, noting the relevance of the Sagittarius constellation as he assumed it would be in his exam. When the class was eventually left to their own devices, Cairo strolled around slowly to take in more of the surroundings. He was most in awe of the ancient architecture and how different it was to what he was used to. A few hours later he returned to the castle with the rest of the class and left the lesson feeling refreshed and excited for the semester ahead.

Compulsive liar | class of 2046 | professional rockstar

[justify]Rome wasn't sure what to expect from the NEWT classes, she didn't particularly want to go to any of them, but here she currently was, making the long trip up from the slytherin dungeons to the astronomy classroom. The girl hadn't liked spending time in the class for the OWL, but since she didn't have quidditch she had to keep her options open surely. She needed to. But this didn't means she was going to enjoy it. She definitely wouldn't. There was no way she was going to enjoy it. The slytherin eventually reached the top of the steps and walked into the classroom in the hallway. She sighed heavily as she took a seat next to Cairo. This was the only advantage, after he had spent so many weeks away on his trip, she was glad for the time they could spend together, even if they couldn't really talk about anything.

The teen looked up at the professor as he began to lecture them, there was a silver lining to it all, they would be going on trips, apparently starting with this class. That would be pretty nice, just being able to spend time outside of the class and just doing anything else. Rome gathered around the portkey and took a hold of it when she was supposed to. The small lecture that the man gave before letting them go was pretty boring, but in the end he finished and they had two hours in this town, that she didn't really care about. Rome followed her twin around, moving through the streets with boredom as he awed at it. It wasn't a fun thing, but it was certainly better than being in class and doing something silly like learning about the stars. She was glad when the two hours ended and she followed Cairo back to the class and therefore back to the school, she was was sure that these trips in this class would be better than class, but how much better would be left to guess.
