"Good morning everyone!" Aeon greeted the students brightly, a smile on his face. He'd promised them last lesson that today would be more exciting. "Wands out and ready! Today, I would like you to try it out inanimate to animate transfiguration for yourselves." Professor Summers said as the students quickly complied. He withdrew his own and waved it toward his desk. Out of thin air appeared a set of teapots, of varying shapes, colours, and sizes. "That was a conjuring spell, by the way. You won't learn it until at least 6th year. Sorry." He explained, picking up a teapot and holding it above his head. "You will each turn one of these decorative teapots into a tortoise. I want you all to be very careful when performing this spell. I will be taking points off of your grade if the tortoise breathes steam or has ceramic tiles on its shell. As pretty as it may turn out to be, we're focusing on a complete transformation." Summers placed a teapot, bright red in colour, onto the surface of his desk. "Torte!" He intoned. With a poof, the teapot changed into a large tortoise, now brown and green. "Come one by one and take a teapot. It's about time you gave it a try." Once everyone had got a teapot, he added, "When class ends, please bring your tortoise up to the front of the classroom for grading. Have fun, but remember to focus." Homework: RP the lesson. Tristan entered the Transfiguration classroom as usual and took his seat. The professor was very excited, which hopefully meant they were going to do a fun and practical lesson. The end of the second year was nearing, and he felt like it had really helped him feel more at home in the magical world. Tristan was dreading heading back to the dreadfully boring muggle world for the winter holidays, and part of him wished he could stay at school. That would make his parents sad, though, and he did miss them a little too. His heart lept when the Professor seemed to create things from thin air, were they going to learn that? His hopes were soon dashed, however, and he sighed. That was just mean. Though it was soon apparent that this spell was almost as good. Turning a teapot into a tortoise was pretty awesome, though Tristan immediately figured it was also pretty much useless in day to day life. Still, he wanted to do well. He took a teapot with a green leaf pattern on it. He said the spell while pointing his wand at it. "Torte." The teapot turned into a tortoise, but its shell still had leaves on it. He was too nervous to try the spell again in case it would hurt this new animal, but he hoped it was passable. He honestly thought it looked kind of nice, though he knew it would lose him points on the exam. With a sigh, he brought his leafy tortoise to the front of the class when the lesson was over. |
