As usual Professor Orbon was finding there wasn't enough time in the semester so he wasted no time once all his fifth years were seated. Or at least all the timely ones. "Today we're going to look at asteroids, and next lesson you will learn about their counter parts." He hoped that the fifth years were being good students for their OWLs because he could only do so much without them putting in the work. "Watch closely, please." Eduardo instructed as he took his wand out of it's holster and cast a spell. It was at this point that the tower moved to open, eliciting a few amazed and shocked noises from the students. "Rowena Ravenclaw, brilliant as she was, made this happen back in Hogwarts Scotland and of course Hogwarts New Zealand followed suit," he told them before casting another spell, this time it was non-verbal. It was at this point that a beam of rainbow coloured light left the tip of his wand before it all stopped short.

His students none the wiser had thought that either his spell had failed or this was all there was were shocked as the floor began to shake and they began to float away in the cieling-less room. "It's perfectly safe, don't worry. You are able to breath too," he said as they began to quickly move through the air and then the atmosphere until they were on the asteroid belt. "Due to a spell I've put on us all and the items in this classroom we have gravity still despite our location," Eduardo said, knowing some might be worried or curious. "Asteroids are normally rocky metallic objects that orbit the sun but are too small to be considered planets. Many refer to them as ‘minor’ planets. Asteroids can be many sizes for example Ceres, is 1000km across and yet others are the size of small stones or pebbles." It was at this point a large asteroid came towards them and many were panicked and ducked but he managed a cruel smile in amusement as it passed through them as if it was a ghost.

"Asteroids have been found all over our solar system; however most of them are in one specific area called the ‘main belt’. It is located between Mars and Jupiter’s orbits. There are many theories on where the asteroid belt came from or how it was created. The mundane theory believes it was planetary matter that just did not form in to a planet like Earth or Mars." Professor Orbon was not a cruel man so with his lecture done he allowed them to take the time to look around them and walk about the classroom before they would return to Hogwarts.

[justify]Tholomyes tiredly walked into the astronomy class, perhaps it was just that Theo wasn't very good with sleeping patterns but these later classes in astronomy usually were met with a general tiredness within him. He walked to his seat and looked towards the man at the front of the class, perhaps this would be a better lesson, though he'd liked the one on comets, it had just been a lecture and his favourite part by the end had been his own doodle of it. It had helped him, he'd done bigger version and on it indicated several bits that related to the lecture that they'd had. It had been a better way of learning for him, but he couldn't exactly do that for every class, this astronomy was just the sort of class where he could do that. It enabled him to. The teen looked to the man as he he told them what they'd be doing, but wasn't really paying as close attention until the professor started casting spells.

To say he was stunned was an understatement, magic could do that? That was incredible, why didn't people do it more often, he felt like studying could be so much better if he could watch the asteroids move through the air. This was beautiful to him, simply beautiful. He couldn't even pay attention to what the professor was saying he was so in awe of what was being presented around him. Just how could anyone get any work done when this was around them. Tholomyes tried to listen but by the end of the lesson when they were returned to the normal class, he hadn't even a) realised how much time had past or b) realised they lecture was over. He looked around the now normal class, unable to help himself as he looked up at the now covered ceiling. He wondered why they didn't do that more often.

Rome's twin • Introverted

[justify]Cairo once again arrived early to his astronomy class and wasted no time sitting down and retrieving his stationery so he could take as many notes as possible. He headed the top of his page with 'asteroids' and then looked up when instructed so he could to pay proper attention as the professor cast a spell and the top of the tower opened. Cairo looked at the sky curiously, wondering if he would be observing any asteroids in class that day while he listened to the professor's statement about Rowena Ravenclaw. He watched again as the professor cast a rainbow looking spell before it stopped suddenly. He raised his eyebrows, expecting more and he wasn't disappointed when everything shook and the class was suddenly transported to the asteroid belt.

Although all of Cairo's astronomy lessons thus far had been interesting in their own right, seeing the asteroid belt with his own eyes was the kind of experience he had been waiting for. He took notes as the professor spoke, and alternated his attention between note taking and the sights in front of him. That was sure to be a lesson Cairo would remember for a while, and he wanted to make the most of the experience of seeing space with his own two eyes so he walked around the classroom, observing as much as possible while he had the time. He would have wanted to stay longer and observe the sights for a few more hours but unfortunately the class was then dismissed and Cairo left the room, fully intent on reading up on astronomy before his next lesson.

Charlotte entered the Astronomy classroom for the fourth time that year and took her usual seat in the room. As the lesson started, she watched with wide eyes as the professor cast a spell and above them had opened. She didn't think that was possible and wanted to applaud, but refrained from doing so as no one else was going to join her. Rowena Ravenclaw must have been an extremely intelligent witch and it made Charlotte want to meet her somehow, even though she was dead. Almost suddenly, the professor cast another spell and the class was moving up into the sky. Holding onto her desk tightly, she looked around at her classmates to see what they thought of this before listening to what the professor had to say about asteroids. It felt very peculiar to defy the laws of gravity and Charlotte didn't know how she particularly felt about it. Nonetheless, the sky was pretty and the asteroid belt was even prettier and she wouldn't take back the experience for anything. When the lesson ended, Charlotte was glad to be back on the ground with the rest of her class and exited the classroom, wondering what next lesson would bring.

[justify]Lyra Potter was determined not to be late to the lesson this week. She made her way up the many stairs to the Astronomy classroom at the top of the tower. She hoped this lesson would be more demonstrative since the last lesson had been a lecture. The lesson began soon after she sat down. Professor Orbon was never late. Lyra's green eyes sparkled with excitement as he cast a spell that opened the roof of the ceiling followed by another spell that had the classroom rising quickly into the sky. The brunette resisted the urge to squeal with glee. This was just the sort of adventure she loved.

Lyra listened intently as Professor Orbon explained asteroids to the class. She jotted down a few notes as he talked. She felt confident this would show up on an exam at some point. When he allowed them to get up and walk around, Lyra quickly put her things away and stood up. Time slipped by her quickly as she was staring out into the stars, trying to make the most of the experience. Class ended, and the room returned to normal. The Gryffindor thanked the professor before leaving the room.
