Professor Summers stood in the classroom with a smile on his face. The students weren't there yet, so he moved towards the doorway and watched the students approach in the hallway. He stood aside slightly and the first of the students arrived.
Once the last student had walked through the door, Aeon closed it and walked to stand in front of his desk.

"Ok, well, to get started today, I'd like you to take our your quills." He heard some of the students mumbling under their breath, one of them he could hear say "I thought he said that we were going to be using our wands today." Summers glanced at the girl who had spoken and paused.

"Now, take out your wands." He grinned, and a few of the students looked puzzled. He walked over to his desk and grabbed his own quill. "Today we are going to change our quills into spoons. In transfiguration, concentration and imagination are key. If you can't mentally visualise the outcome of your spell, it isn't going to work well. You are altering the very molecules that make up an object, so I'm sure you can see how important it is to concentrate. In most of the transfigurations that we will be doing we will be using the 'three tap' method. For this particular transfiguration, the incantation is Scriopea. Now watch me..." Professor Summers held his wand to his quill, tapped it three times and said "Scriopea". With a soft noise, his quill flipped around and turned into a spoon. He picked up his new spoon and held it up to the class. "This is what you should end up with, though the types of spoons will vary depending on each of you. For instance, this spoon is of platinum, but the first time some students perform this, it's quite literally a little rusty." He smiled at the class. "Now, don't forget, three taps, and 'Scriopea'. I will be walking around as you do this, so if you need any help just raise your hand. At the end of class, line up at the door and I will change your spoons back into your quills." He held up his spoon and with another tap of his wand, it became a quill.

"Alright, let's get started!"

Note: "Finite" is a counter-spell, not Untransfiguration, and shouldn't be used to reverse any transfigurations.

With the weeks dwindling away, lauv was beginning to really enjoy hogwarts, weirdness of the place aside, there was something that grew within her every time she thought of this place. She liked it, it was a home away from home, and here no one knew who she was, who her parents were and she was free to do as she pleased. There was a freedom within this school to completely be a new person, to not have to overly worry about what those around her thought of her. They took everything at face value, and she was as polite as she could ever be. This was working in her favour, she hadn’t yet made any enemies and though she also hadn’t made too many friends, she was friendly with most of the people around her and that surely counted for something. The girl was getting ready for the classes she had that day, going about her daily pre-class routine of tidying her area of the dorm, of changing into a clean uniform, of ensuring she had all of her things and only when she was entirely and completely ready did she leave the dorm and head to class, on this occasion for going breakfast.

Bao walked into the transfiguration classroom and took a seat within the room. She looked to the man at the front and waited patiently for the man to begin. She pulled her quill towards her, before then upon being instructed to, also pulled her wand towards her. She realised with a start that this likely meant they would be studying spells, they would be doing magic rather than theory. This was definitely going to be good. Bao looked to the man at the front of the room as he explained the spell that they would be doing in that lesson. She nodded her head, and watched him preform it. Already in her head Bao was imagining a quill becoming a spoon. She repeated the spell several times underneath her breath before they were then allowed to begin. Only then did Bao look hard at the quill and imagine that very specific quill in front of her becoming a spoon. She tapped it three times and said, "Scripea," the quill almost changed, it seemed to shake and then stop. She tried the spell again, but it was on the third try that it actually worked and thankfully that was before the end of the class. She got her spoon changed back into the quill it was supposed to be and left the room.

It was already the fourth week and Sara could not be happier at Hogwarts. She took her usual seat as she arrived to the classroom, taking out her notes because the professor had told them to take out their quills but realised soon afterwards that he'd also told them to take out their wands. She raised her eyebrows, wondering what exactly Professor Summers had planned for this lesson. She did pull out her wand out of her robe pocket anyway, waiting for further instructions. Finally! They were transfiguring! Although, she didn't know how to feel about her quill being turned into...a spoon. The Slytherin cleared her throat, tapped the quill three times and said "Scriopea" waiting for the magic to do its thing. She frowned, trying again. There. Her spoon was rusty, like the professor said it would be and she sighed in relief because at least it worked. The lesson seemed to be a short one and Sara packed away her belongings, waiting until her spoon was turned back into a quill and left, heading towards the grounds.
