Late for her Class Kida had been on the Pitch observing some students for any potential to add to her team when she realized what the time was, she shifted into her Animagus form and bolted through up to the castle, her Wolf form easily making far more speed than she could on her own two legs, she weaved between students and up the stairs just in time to walk in after the last lot of students, she walked down the aisle in her almost completely black wolf form aside from her paw which had white fur to mimic her scar on her hand she had gotten years ago from when she was a student. Walking up to where her desk was she made her way around the back of her desk and transfigured back and walked around the other side brushing her brown hair back as she did 'Welcome, Welcome, Sorry to anyone who was scared of wolves' she began with a smile, whipping her wand from out of her sleeve she gave it a solid flick, a few little love birds appeared above her head and fluttered up to the rafters of the classroom 'Today we shall be learning Avis' she began looking at her students 'Should be easy for experts like yourself, just focus on the type of bird you want to conjure and the incantation is Avis' as she said the word she flicked her wand again and some little finches appeared, fluttering to jump around the students feet 'Try not to Conjure anything too big now' she added making sure no student conjured an eagle 'Once you're confident set them free out the windows and you are dismissed, If you're having any issues, feel free to call on me' Kida walked around her desk and took a seat to watch the students practice. Darcy was really enjoying Transfiguration this year because she felt like she was learning something new each week instead of revising and practicing the same type of spell each year. It made her look forward to the class more. The Slytherin walked in to the classroom and wondered where the professor was, it wasn't like her to be late. She startled completely when a wolf barged in, especially since she sat in the front row, and screamed out loud. It wasn't so much that the sight of the animal scared her, though it was big and frightening, but also the fact that she hadn't been expecting it at all so it took her completely by surprise. Darcy put a hand over her heart to calm herself down and smile warily at the professor when she apologized. It took her some time to calm down after the fright and focused on the lesson of the day. She watched the professor perform it first and thought for a moment on what type of bird she should conjure before she finally gave it a try. Darcy concentrated on the image of the bird she wanted to appear and said, "Avis!" thinking hard about a hummingbird because she wanted to try conjuring a really tiny bird so it wouldn't be so hard. Thankfully, the bird appeared out of thin air, and Darcy smiled at it, though it didn't stay put as it began to zoom around the room. The room was soon filled with other birds and though Darcy was happy with her successful spell she wasn't keen to spend a room where she could potentially get pooped on. Once she had conjured up one more bird, a finch this time, she packed up her things to leave. This lesson left her wondering whether she could conjure up her own owl instead of buying one at the Menagerie but she hadn't thought to ask the professor until after she had left. |

Not many people quite expected to walk into their classroom, and then be followed by a wolf. The situation was quickly explained, however, and with an uncle that spent more time as a dingo than a father, he felt he probably should have known, though realistically he also knew that he had no idea how to spot a strange animagus in their animal form, if there even was one. Fortunately, the professor deemed it appropriate to get a move on quickly, and with a heavily beating heart, Hamish focused on the lesson at hand. They would be conjuring birds, today, which was nice. Sort of. It was an easy spell to remember, at least, with a short and crisp pronunciation - at least the bird-fearers of the world were able to be handled. Small was the best way to start, and with the finches fluttering around, they were readily at hand to attempt to conjure - he didn't want any accidents. He could see the successes and failures of his fellow classmates, and tried to not have this impact too sharply on his own attempts, with the eventual conjuring of his desired finches once he worked his way around the pronunciation and focused well enough on his image of the finch. He tried a few more before the class had ended, and packed up his things to leave the classroom. |
