Canine Animagus ☼ Spell Inventor Magical Menagerie Proprietor Transfiguration Professor 1-4 Brodie's Familiar

Summers sat on the edge of his desk as he waited for the first years to enter and gestured for them to take their seats once they did. As soon as everyone was ready, he did a quick roll call before flicking his wad toward the blackboard that hung along the back of the room. The inanimate piece of chalk sprang to life and wrote up a short, simple sentence.

Transfiguration and the Ministry of Magic

"Let's get started. Now, Transfiguration is a powerful branch of magic, as I'm sure you've all figured out by now. It's complex, but vast in it's capabilities, which is what makes it dangerous. Some people choose to follow darker paths and use Transfiguration as a weapon. As such, the Ministry of Magic has rules and punishments in place that center around this subject and its misuse. Using transfiguration on another human, or even an animal, being for the purposes of harming them or simply your own entertainment will incur these punishments." Summers paused, casting a glance across the first years present and ensuring they were paying attention. They needed to understand that Transfiguration was not like your usual jinxes and hexes. There were consequences for using it against others.

As soon as he was certain everyone was listening, he continued. "This doesn't stop at just using Transfiguration on other people. Using it on yourself has it's own laws as well. As you saw last lesson, I am capable of changing into a canine at will. The few people who have this ability are known as animagi, witches and wizards who have mastered Transfiguration to the point of altering their physical selves into an intelligent creature to most represents them. Animagus must be registered with the Ministry of Magic, with the individuals forms and markings so that they can be identified."

Stopping to make sure everyone was still following, Aeon noticed a raised hand. "Yeah?"

"Are there even rules for Inanimate to Inanimate Transfiguration?" a student asked.

"Mhm. Even for that, as odd as it sounds."

"But how could that be used wrongly, professor?" the same student asked, a bit surprised.

"There are numerous ways to abuse Transfiguration and each of its branches, which we'll be covering more in-depth in future lessons. Unfortunately, that's all we really have time for today. If you're interested, you can read up on more about it in the Library. As of now, you can focus on homework." He grinned and waved his wand toward the board, the chalk springing back into action and writing up the student's assignment.

Chinese | Sophisticated | fourth year

[justify]Bao was nervous for the second week, the first was always a little simpler than any of the others, and she was a little nervous about what it might bring. She hadn’t found any of the professors that difficult to understand, but she was thinking that in the first week, everything was clearly and easier it was as they got into the classes that the chinese girl knew she would have more problems. The slytherin was ready for the day, she always made sure to present herself in the best possible way. The slytherin was making sure that her clothes were clean, and she was wearing everything just in the best way. Bao brushed her hair before putting it up in a high ponytail. Choosing then to leave the dorm, with her bag and getting something to eat. With a little more time that day, and a little anxiousness she went to the great hall for some food for something to fill her time. She was pretty eager to just get started on the lessons themselves but with a little time, Lauv knew food was a good thing to do. When it was finally time, the girl left the great hall for the class she had that day.

This semester was clearly so much better in her mind. It was so much more involved, it had far more that she was actually interested in. It was just better, and probably the best in her mind were the transfiguration lessons, though she'd only had the one, it was certain one of the most interesting lessons that she thought she'd done so far in her school career. The girl took a seat in the transfiguration room that day and looked to the professor as the class started. She glanced to the board behind him and read what was written. It certainly seemed interesting, what did the ministry do in terms of transfiguration. She could imagine with ease, like the professor said that it was relatively simple to do. She wanted to make notes, but really what he was saying didn't require notes, it was just easier to follow along with what he was saying and be sure she heard it all. The slytherin listened to the question being asked and to the professor's response she failed to see how it would be dangerous and was therefore made keen by the professor mention such things were in books in the library to do just that head to the library and read about such things.

gentle; alternate keeper

[justify]Marcos had been trying his best with classes, but he knew his interest in them was waining and it was only the second week. There was so much that he knew could be fun with them, but he wasn’t feeling it at all. He just didn’t find any of it as fun as others did. But he was trying his best, doing his best to pay attention to what they were teaching him, but he lost interest in it so easily that keeping his attention was hard. The boy was attempting to do more work out of the classes, to hopefully gain more interest and actually do some of the homework that he knew he needed to do. The gryffindor would try and improve he would do better than in the first semester, even if it was only a fraction better than what he had done. That would be enough for Marcos. The Gryffindor was getting ready for classes, putting in his bag, the books with the hastily finished homework. The boy was making sure he had everything he had, before getting a little breakfast, he had such plans for the rest of the day when the classes were finally over but right now he had to do those very classes.

Marcos wasn't too sure what to expect from the second class of transfiguration, he expected them to do a little more background theory until they could do one or two spells, but he was hopeful that they might actually get to a spell in this class. However as the words appeared on the board behind the man, he realised it would be more theory. Marcos nodded his head and took out the books and utensils that he would need. He listened to the professor noting what he was saying, of course the ministry had rules about it. He knew that some of his family didn't entirely agree with this but he knew that the rules existed. Marcos believed the rules existed for a reason, he firmly believed it, but he was curious that even inanimate to inanimate, he couldn't really see how that could be used wrong, surely it couldn't be. The boy raised his hand and asked, "But how could that be used wrongly, professor?" he was sure others were thinking the same thing, and someone should ask. The answer given was fair, he didn't think it really answered his question, but he was tided over for now about it, knowing that in the future they would learn about it.
