Faida was already in the classroom waiting for the students to arrive, when they did she greeted them politely and got straight into the lesson without any fuss. "I hope your assignments are going well for you and that you have all actually started them" she began to pace up and down the room as she started the lesson, "Today I want to do about women's suffrage in New Zealand's history. so please do take notes as it could come up on your end of year exams." "Kate Sheppard was born in 1847 and was the most prominent member of the New Zealand women's suffrage movement, she was also this country's most famous suffragette" Faida glanced up for a moment to explain the word suffrage to the class before continuing, "New Zealand was the first country to introduce the concept of universal suffrage." She spoke on about the history of women in New Zealand and how they were not allowed to vote and were expected to remain in the home to raise children and attend to domestic matters. "Kate Shepherd helped to introduce the first suffrage bill in 1887 and is famous for this quote ..." Professor Kaibyrn moved to the blackboard and picking up the piece of chalk began to write; '"...all that separates, whether of race, class, creed, or sex, is inhuman, and must be overcome." Turning back to the students she placed the chalk back and dusted her finger tips clean. "I want you to read what you can about Kate Sheppard, learn from her and for your homework assignment I want you to write a short essay on what the wizarding community has done to separate different magical races and classes from one another and what you think should be done to overcome these separations in our society. Class dismissed." ---------------------------- rp the lesson extra credit for the essay ---------------------------- references Muggle Studies,6,2

Isabelle was slightly excited for her next Muggle Studies lesson. She wanted to learn more than what she learnt last lesson and quickly entered the classroom before taking out all of her writing equipment in hopes that the professor would give them a lecture or something. Fortunately, that was exactly what she was going to do. Isabelle sat and listened intently as she scribbled away, translating some things in French if she needed to. Kate Sheppard seemed like quite an interesting person, and when the lesson ended, Isabelle headed straight to the library to get started on her essay and get to know more about her. |
