`the sun shines on me like a spotlight, i'm in your head like a headline j e s s i c a y o o n a p a r k  [last updated june 2, 2017] `e t y m o l o g y jessica - herbrew origin; means 'rich; god beholds, god sees' yoona - korean name; means 'dove; graceful' park - common korean family name; means 'plain' nicknames - jess, sica `in depth jessica is korean, but her name is american, so she and her family pronounce it in a korean accent. when she introduces herself to english speakers, she pronounces it correctly, the american way. but among her family and korean friends, her name is pronounced 'jesheeka' just because of the way the koreans pronounce certain letters due to their alphabet. so her nickname 'sica' would be pronounce 'sheeka.' it's weird for americans to hear so she just sticks to the normalized version of her name. her parents like to refer to her as her given korean name, yoona, so she knows she's in trouble when they actually yell out 'jessica' `b i r t h current age - fifteen birthday - may 1, 2028 zodiac - taurus - taurus's love to enjoy the good life and are ambitious and driven to the point that it can make them stubborn in their efforts. they are sensual and passionate people which makes them romantic. element - earth - earth signs keep it real and are the ones to stick by you no matter what. they are grounded and focused on what they choose to give attention to. planet - venus - venus is the planet of beauty and love so they crave and indulge in tenderness, satisfaction, and gratitude.  `b a s i c s birthplace - incheon, south korea previous residencies - hawaii; england; china; washington; seoul, south korea; italy current residence - paris, france ethnicity - korean blood status - muggle born socioeconomic status - upper middle class voice - jessica has a noticeable korean accent when she speaks english despite being fluent in english for nearly all her life languages - korean, english, french (learned in that order & from most fluent to least fluent) `in depth jessica's dad is actually an american-born korean, but he met her mom while stationed in south korea and they fell in love. because her dad is in the military, they moved around a lot so jessica never really knows what to answer when people ask her where she grew up and it stresses her out at times! does she answer with where she was born, where she actually grew up, or where she last lived? so many possibly answers! `a p p e a r a n c e playby - shin hyejeong ♥ race/ethnicity - asian; korean hair - jessica was born with brown hair but she has recently began experimenting with it. she had it ombre, then blonde for a year and currently it is pink with blonde on top. she is already thinking of switching up her hair color but she likes the pink for now. eyes - brown, almond shaped, expressive height - jessica is unusually tall for someone of her ethnicity but is pretty average generally. she is 5 feet 7 inches tall  `w a n d dominant hand - right curved 10" whippy ivy wand with billywig stinger core length ten inches - a fairly average length for a wand, not at all uncommon or very special. style curved - bending to its side, this wand is more difficult to aim than its straighter counterparts but provides character that some simply cannot pass by wood - ivy - ivy wands are best suited for social wizards and witches who adapt well in difficult situations and thrive. they also seem to have a knack for healing magic. core - billywig stinger - billywig stingers make for temperate cores, but they are mildly useful when used to heal. wands with this core tend to what they want to do, making them good for people who are flexible in nature. flexibility - whippy - a wand that is quite simple to master but lacks power `e d u c a t i o n school - beauxbatons academy of magic current year - fifth year best subjects - charms, muggle studies worst subjects - history of magic classes - [grades pending owls this year] defense against the dark arts, history of magic, muggle studies, charms, transfiguration, divination career aspiration - professional quidditch player for either the holyhead harpies or the tuscan charmers; after that she has no idea what to do when she has to retire but isn't too fussed with figuring it out because her sights are set on quidditch  `p e r s o n a l i t y 5 words - adventurous, spontaneous, flirty, unfocused, impulsive positives - big heart, caring, sociable, persistent, devoted, creative, loyal negatives - stubborn, too carefree, lax, selfish, insecure, reckless, obsessive likes - quidditch, spontaneous trips, sports, flirting, muggle music, dancing, dying her hair, traveling dislikes - authority, routine, likes traveling but hates moving, classes, feeling inferior to her sisters even though she's the oldest strengths - loyalty, drive, daring loyalty - when she is loyal to you she will absolutely not give up on you and be your biggest supporter drive - jessica does not stop going after what she wants no matter what daring - she is not afraid to try anything once because she sees all experiences as positive/a way to learn/a good story weaknesses - unfocused, insecure, flirty unfocused - while jess is a taurus in so many ways and is focused on a goal, it gives her tunnel vision and she only cares about the one thing on her mind insecure - although jess acts like she has the most confidence in the world, she is actually pretty insecure about a lot of things. she's insecure about her background being a military brat, her accent, her sisters being better than her even though they're younger, not being pretty enough, etc. flirty - jess loves to flirt and she sees nothing wrong with it, but sometimes it can land her in sticky situations where she leads someone on accidentally or if she really likes someone but they won't take her advances seriously because she talks that way with everyone goals - to be scouted for a professional quidditch team early before her graduation so she won't have to finish school; to be on the holyhead harpies or tuscan charmers team fears - failing all her classes and then having scouts turn her away because of that; her hair falling out after she's dyed it so many times; continuously disappointing her parents `m i s c e l l a n e o u s patronus - penguin expecto patronum - the time she made the quidditch team because it was something she tried all on her own & her sisters didn't overshadow her boggart - all her hair will fall out from dying it too much riddikulus - when she pulls on her hair, it'll just be a wig so her real hair is perfectly fine animagus - n/a (but if possible, a black cat) amortentia - wood polish, grass, tbd mirror of erised - if jess were to look into the mirror of erised she wouldn't really understand what the image represented at first, because it would be of her and all her sisters smiling and being happy with her. but what it means is that her true desire is to feel completely at peace with her sisters without comparing herself to them and being truly okay with each other's differences veritaserum - jessica has no 'deep dark' secrets that requires veritaserum to get out of her at the moment, she's a pretty open book. sexuality - bisexual first kiss - second year with a girl in third year, bianca goldstein relationship status - single (interested in somebody) innocence status - still intact.  `f a m i l y
