[justify]     Today was Sloane's youngest class, third years. The newly made teenagers, well for some of them, there were a few that had not surpassed the age of thirteen yet. Sloane walked around every desk, placing muggle pens and paper upon the surface, straightening up the desks every now and then. Some of them had been moved for various reasons and she now wanted them back to order. After each desk had one pen and a pad of paper upon it and was perfectly straight, Sloane went back up to the front of the room, and glanced over at the chalkboard and then the whiteboard. She decided to write on the whiteboard this time, mainly because she rather disliked chalk dust, it made her sneeze uncontrollably and gave her a headache. On the board, Sloane wrote manually:

Professor Sloane Stark
Muggle Studies

Required Textbook: Home Life and the Social Habits of British Muggles
[justify]     Sloane then went back to her desk, and slid onto it. It was a habit she had recently discovered. She loved teaching, but she didn't much like desks. They were too much of a barrier for her and she didn't like to distance the few students that she did have. Sloane did not wear robes in her classroom. She wore muggle attire and today had dressed in a long black skirt with a blue singlet. She had always preferred it anyway. Most of the time she used magic, but if she was too preoccupied to think of a spell or she was just really tired, then muggle was the way to go. They were such fascinating people. Sloane grinned when she saw the first of her students arrive, her blue eyes sparkled with eagerness and excitement. After everyone made it into the class, Sloane greeted them, "Welcome to your first muggle studies class, guys." She never yelled, reserving that for when she was angry at students. They could all hear here there was no need to shout. "I'm Professor Sloane Stark. I'd prefer you all call me Professor from here on out, though when we are in the muggle world, I go by Sloane, or Miss." She smiled at all of them in turn before standing up and walking to the back of the room to close the door. A demonstration of sorts. As she walked back, she continued to speak, "You'll notice already, that this class is different to your other classes, this is because muggles can't preform any magic." This was standard knowledge by most people, however there were still a small group of people who didn't know. "In my class, you'll be learning about how muggles live without magic and the sorts of things they've invented to help with that." There were those that believed that muggles were inferior, but she wasn't about to single those members out.

Sloane moved back to the desk and slid onto the top again. "Now, why do you think Hogwarts offers this course, over a number of others?" Sloane gazed all the students, wondering if any of them were against muggles. The reactions on their face were very interesting to see. She soon pointed to one of the students. "Tell me, why do you think muggle studies is taught over other subjects. This is an elective that nearly all the institutions offer." She waited for the answer and nodded as they spoke. "Okay, fair enough. Here's another question, someone tell me why they are here today?" Sloane was interested to know why the students had picked this topic. Some were out of interest, other because they had to study it for a job, others were simply unsure of what the course entailed. Sloane waited for the responses and then held up her hand to settle the students again. "As you can see, this classroom is modelled after a traditional muggle classroom. We have a chalkboard in the front and a whiteboard on the back wall." Sloane motioned to both of these as she spoke. "We'll cover what these are used for and their differences soon enough." Sloane stood once again and walked to one of the desks, lifting the pen, pencil and paper to show the rest of the class. "I'm sure, by now, you've noticed the muggle implements on your desks. I'm sure they're quite unfamiliar to some of you." She placed them back on the desk and smiled around at her class, "This is what muggles use in their classrooms and so we are going to as well. I promise they are lots of fun and you don't have to worry about spilling inkwells." She winked then and turned back to the chalk board. "Yours are a little different though, because they have your houses on them."

Sloane quickly checked the time and nodded as she turned back to the class. "It seems I've taken up quite a lot of your time. Before I give you all some homework I'm going to share a bit about myself with you." Sloane looked at the students to see if they were paying attention before continuing, "If you can't already guess, I was born in Australia and I lived there for most of my life, until I was about oooh, sixteen. I studied at Hogwarts Scotland though where I was sorted into Ravenclaw." There was no point explaining why she'd gone to Hogwarts Scotland as opposed to this one. "I have three siblings, an older set of twins and a younger brother. Both of my parents are magical and always encouraged us to understand muggles. To that extent, I can both drive a muggle vehicle and according to muggle law, I can fly small muggle planes, which you'll learn more about as this course progresses." She tapped her chin slightly to think about what else she should share. "Not long ago, my brother taught here, he was the Care of Magical Creatures Professor and he's an animagus." Both Sladen and Speed were animagus' but neither she or her sister were. "Let's see, hmmm, my best subjects were Charms, Muggle Studies and Herbology, so I would suggest always listening to both your Charms and your Herbology professors. I'd recommend listening to them all, but those are my favourites." She grinned at them before nodding. "I think that's enough about me, you guys don't need to know everything about me, a little mystery never goes remiss." She laughed slightly before pointing to the white board at the back of the room. "That's your homework for today, but before you go, I want a little information from each of you. Your name, your family, your hobbies, anything you want to share." She pointed to one of the students who she intended to go first.

As the last student finished, Sloane waved them out. "Alright guys, see you next week and don't forget your homework."

Evelyn had loved the conversation with Professor so Phillips so much that she thought of it as a pity she had to wait until she got lessons from him. But she was very excited about this new class she would attend. She thought of muggles as very interesting and wanted to learn more about them and especially their clothes and shops. The blonde was curious which friends of her would attend this lesson too. She was aware of people mostly from Pure Blood that had a hate towards muggles, but Evelyn couldn't really understand. She guessed they had never met one before, so how could they judge? The blonde entered the room and was rather early so entered as the first student. She was happy about it so she could make an impression. She found herself walking to the front and smiled at the Professor who was a woman. She settled down in the front of the classroom and waited for more students to arrive. The blonde also took her quill and parchment in case she needed to write some important stuff down, what she usually did during lessons.

The woman introduced herself as Sloane Stark. She looked around the room while Professor Stark said the room was different than other lessons. Ofcourse Evelyn already knew muggles couldn't perform magic, so the clothes they made was handwork. Evelyn thought about the first question the woman asked, and it was a good question why in the magical world they would teach about muggles. Because in the muggle world they didn't give lecture about their magical world. Evelyn decided to raise her hand for the second question, ofcourse she wanted to say why she followed this class. '' I'm here, because I want to get more knowledge about the Fashion from Muggles and their brands. Their clothes interest me.'' The blonde said smiling.

She listened as Professor Stark told much information about herself and Evelyn really liked the woman, she seemed nice but also strict in a way but not so strict as Kingsley. When it was their turn to introduce themselves Evelyn smiled as she was the first to begin. '' I'm Evelyn Manning. I live with my dad, mother and twinbrother Espen who is a Slytherin student around here. I was born in Denmark and moved to New Zealand for my dad's work. I like to shop and give away presents, and to chat with friends.'' When the blonde was finished she looked around and listened to the others as they introduced themselves. The lesson went by pretty fast and Evelyn was really glad she had chosen this one. She writed down her homework and grabbed her things. After saying goodbye to Professor Stark she left the room.

[justify]His next class was an easy one to get good grades at and it was taught by their Head of House. Their whole lives revolves around muggle daily activities and muggle made gadgets. Their parents prefer it that way as they live with their muggleborn mum but whenever Hunter and Peyton goes to visit their dad who's a halfblood, occasional use of magic is always seen. Arriving at the classroom, Hunter put a smile on his face, taking a sit at the far back of the classroom. As the room filled. Professor Stark started off by introducing herself but the boy already knew who she was. When questions are thrown out to them, a classmate of his started rambling about fashion and clothes. The Bairds had a large amount of designer clothes company around the world and they also supply top designer house for their textiles. It was fascinating though that the blonde only wants to learn those things. The muggle world has a lot to offer.

After that, Hunter listened to the Professor about herself. He never knew that she's from Australia too and that lifted his mood up. Aussies, for him, are the coolest people in the world. As the lesson turned out to be not that long and was relief that they don't have to do some introductions, Hunter was wrong, when he was about to get up from his seat he was surprised that they had to be introduced. The Hufflepuff sigh and waited for that blonde Gryffindor to finish, when it was his turn, Hunter stood up and started. "Hey, I'm Hunter Baird and I have an older sister in Gryffindor. She's a know it all, so, if you meet her be on her good side. Our parents are divorced and that we live with our mum, step father, half sister and aunt in Napier. Although, we're both born in Australia. Our dad owns a big company. I love Quidditch and maybe someday I'll have a chance to join a professional team after I graduate." Mentioning the divorce was still a bitter memory but it was a long time ago and he can handle it better now. After the class had done their part, they were dismissed and reminded of the homework. Hunter exited the classroom and head to their common room to finish up his homework for that day.

[justify]Flavio wasn't sure what to expect from his first ever Muggle Studies lesson, but he somehow wasn't surprised to find Muggle pens and paper on every desk in the classroom upon his arrival. He knew what pens were, but he had never tried them before and was interested to see if they would write better than a quill or if they would be inconvenient or obsolete in comparison. He nodded politely to the professor as he sat down, then listened to her speak while she introduced the subject and that lesson. He averted his gaze to the pen and paper on his desk as she spoke about each of them, then looked around the room to notice the differences to his other classrooms. The room was still very obviously a classroom but it had many differences that weren't normal for Hogwarts that Flavio now begun to notice.

He continued to look around the room, but his attention was soon drawn back to the lesson as the professor asked the class why they were there. Flavio listened to Evelyn's answer, smiling when she finished speaking. Then the professor spoke about herself, mentioning her family and where she went to school. Listening to her talk about her school life was surprising for Flavio, especially when the professor said they had been sorted into Ravenclaw. He admired that she was a fellow Ravenclaw of course, but was almost dumbfounded at the information because he knew this professor was supposed to be the Hufflepuff head of house. Making someone who had been sorted into Ravenclaw be the head person for a different house that was home to wizards with a different set of personality traits did not make any sense to him, whatsoever. But he figured this meant Sloane must have been competent enough, if not more than capable of helping Hufflepuff students whenever they needed it. The last thing Flavio wanted was to hear that his friend Amber, who was in Hufflepuff, wasn't being looked after properly. Soon enough the lesson was dismissed, and Flavio's attention was once again brought back into the present. He listened to the other students in the class say a little about themselves, before standing up and speaking himself. "My name is Flavio. I am from Chile, so my first language is not English. I have two older sisters, an older brother, and a younger brother who is a first year." He said, being sure to keep his introduction brief so he did not bore anyone. After everyone was finished speaking Flavio left the room, smiling at the professor on his way out.
