Professor Black decided that she was going to work a bit of conjuring today for her class, since they would be working with those next year. As they all sat down, she rose from her seat, walking to the front of the class. "Welcome. We are going to be working with a bit more difficult animal today." She looked at the class with a smirk, then quickly waved her wand, conjuring up a duck on the desk of a very surprised student. "Ducks!" she said, picking up the animal. "Now, I will conjure up your duck for you when we are ready. Conjuring will be the type of spell you will learn about next year. I didn't want to have a sord of mallards running around the room on us."

As she set the duck in her hands back down, it began to wander around the room. She tapped the air in front of her, and spoke the spell. The duck disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared. "Alright. Now do remember that with the right amount of concentration. You don't have to be right on top of your duck. Experiment with moving around the room. I will conjure you a new one if you wish to try again as well. Now if you all will stand up, we can get started."

Once the students were up, she flicked her wand and moved the desks to the side of the room and then with another quick flick, a sord of mallards were in the open area. "Go to it!" she said with a smile, stepping back to watch the mayhem commence.

Homework:RP attendance. Completing the lesson is optional. Have fun with your duck! I am looking forward to reading your responses. Transfiguration,5,5

Former Ravenclaw and Head Boy, Class of 2043 | Unspeakable

[justify]Isaiah had a lot on his mind as of late, while he wasn't going to be facing any exams at the end of this semester, the teen did have a lot of other things to do, and with all of the classes he was attending it was unsurprising that he was pretty stressed about his OWLs. The year was like all of them, passing increasingly fast, he was struggling to really in his mind comprehend everything, and how fast it was all moving, but regardless of this, he was still pushing towards the best grades he could. Which meant that he was constantly reading, constantly studying the only spare moments he had were for quidditch, the prefect duties and the odd things that he did for the Brotherhood of magic. He was getting ready for another day, having come in from a run, which had become an almost habitual thing since he'd broken his arm, he felt like he needed to build his strength, so he was pushing himself more and more, building his fitness up slowly, although this actually wasn't too hard given that he was already pretty energetic. He quickly got changed and then left the room, heading straight for the classroom.

It was unsurprising that Isaiah felt little more nervous about this class, he was sure that they would be practicing the spell on bigger creatures and in the back of his mind he was only imagining how it could go wrong, how the class might be disrupted by any person who didn't like doing this. The teen looked to the front of the room as he sat down and realised that there were no creatures yet in the room, until the professor conjured up a duck, made it appear out of no where, and he felt a little more at ease that no one would kick up a fuss about it. The teen was able to get a duck and got his wand out, he pointed it at the creature and tapped three times before saying the spell, it took two attempts before he was able to get the spell to work, and all of a sudden he no longer had a duck in front of him. Much like with the other lessons, Isaiah asked to be able to practice again and managed it with more ease second time around. Eventually the class was over and Isaiah was able to leave.

[justify]Orwell was fairly busy just in general but increasingly so as they got closer and closer to the exams that they would have to do, even if they were in the second term, the teen was still nervous about it all. The boy had put the final touches on the Wild Patch event that was to finish off the week and it kept him busy but it was definitely difficult. The king of flowers had a lot of work to do and he had to also focus on the classes, since he was a transfer student and he was a student that did get into trouble he had to keep his grades up, this was crucial to him, and this was just a crucial part of his life, even if he hated having to wake up early in the morning and drag himself to class, which he usually did after a tired breakfast with Archie. It was the worst mornings when he didn't have Archie to be with him in the class and who wasn't able to wake him up better, so he always went to those classes more tired than others. The teen did however love the classes he did, so once he got to them, he usually was pretty happy.

Orwell was definitely not looking forward to this but when it appeared as he sat that there were no creatures he felt a little lighter, which lasted until the professor said they'd be doing the spell on a more difficult animal and suddenly she conjured a duck, as much as he felt like it didn't matter so much if the creature was made to appear it still didn't make him feel good about what he was about to do. The boy sighed heavily as the professor spoke of it, and then made all the desks disappear. He spent his time staring at the duck that was him, stroking it's feathers and explaining to it about the situation, really as it turned out, Orwell felt no better about what he was about to do to this creature than anything of the others. The teen waved his wand like he was supposed to, tapping it three times and then saying the incantation, the duck vanished back to where ever it had come from, and Orwell was left wanting to go to the headmistresses office to demand they no longer do these spells, but for now, the teen just left the room for the library keen to continue looking up about the morality of making other creatures vanish.

Carlotta Love To Give
[ * * ]
[justify]It was drawing near the end of the lessons, being the second last week. She wasn't sure what she was to expect - would they be vanishing something even more complicated than a mouse? She wasn't sure what the next step to that would be, really. She wasn't sure she could vanish something even larger like a crup or something. She sat down and greeted the professor quietly with a smile. Her eyebrows rose as they were informed that they would be working with ducks. She would be conjuring ducks for them, and Carlotta suddenly couldn't wait for next year to start conjuring all sorts of things, she was rather more interested in that area of transfiguration.

Once again, the example was deceivingly easy, and Carlotta found herself missing the little duck - but at least it had not been splinched. That really was half the motivation. Succeed in order to be better, and succeed in order to not splinch the little creatures they were casting spells on. She wanted them to move around the classroom today, and she was looking forward to it. She wasn't really one that liked to sit around idle when she much ratcheted be on the move. Her feet tapped against the floor for a while until she finally stood up. There were several ducks in the room now and several students hunting them, and the Hufflepuff had her eyes set on one. Approaching it, she tapped the air in front of her. "Evanesco!" She repeated herself a few times on other ducks until she was sure she had got it down. The concentration part was made difficult by their movement, but she managed well enough and left the classroom happily upon dismissal.

Seeking Comfort ll Dead Inside ll Everyone's Leaving

As was usual now in Prudence's routine, the blonde woman headed to the class she loved most - Transfiguration. She'd been more on top of attendance and homework this recent year, as not only was her animagus training at stake, her status as a prefect made her an example. If she did poorly she'd most likely be harassed or lose the title. It wasn't long that she'd been sitting in the class when they were told about their lesson, and what practical applications they'd be learning that day. There was a small laugh from the Gryffindor whom remembered what Tomas had done with this very lesson - had it been that long ago already?

Sobering reality hit her for a moment before she stood and moved along with the other students to the side. Suddenly there were ducks everywhere. Prudence smiled with delight - as she truly loved all animals. Especially ducks. There was not a moment of hesitation before the woman decided on her duck. she chased it for a moment, before remembering that within her back was a cookie she'd grabbed from the kitchens late the night before. The blonde made her way to her bag and then grabbed out the cookie. It wasn't long after she'd dropped the crumbs that she found many ducks at her side. The girl was confident and began tapping the duck she'd sought out. It fluttered away and she dropped more crumbs. Her concentration was fully on the spell, and the duck. Finally she seemed to gain enough trust by sitting among the birds and tapped it with her wand before speaking. "Evanesco." She was successful, though it was only on one duck. She had been confident, and that was a huge key to her succes in anything.

Alex sighed when he saw the ducks in his Transfiguration classroom, why couldn't they just move on from this stupid spell? They already knew how to vanish things, so why were they so committed to forcing them to keep learning how to vanish? Surely there was other spells that they could be teaching to these people. He sighed once again, and took his seat. He had been practicing in anticipation of whatever they threw at him for the lesson even though he felt it was stupid that they were pushing this stupid spell. He drew his wand when he had his duck, tapped it three times, said the incantation and then smiled as his hard work paid off and the duck vanished. When he was dismissed, he left the classroom and headed off to the common room.
