Professor Black had a huge cage of mice on her desk. She was sitting there next to them, tormenting them just a bit with her fingers. Her animagus form tended to take over when she was around mice. When the students finally were settled in, she looked up and nodded to them all. "Good morning class." Professor Black moved in front of the class and spoke. "Today we are going to work with mice. These are a bit more difficult, since you need to not only make them disappear, but keep track of them until they are gone. The spell is the same, but you need to pay more attention to the parts of the mouse. We want to get them all now don't we?" She moved to the cage, then began to call them up one by one to pick out a mouse. "There are plenty here, please don't be too choosy. I have enough so if you wish to work with a second one, you may." Once everyone was seated again, she picked out her own mouse, and walked to the front of the class. Setting it down, she tapped her wand three times. "Evansesco!" The mouse disappeared mid stride as it tried to move away. "Ok. Get to work. I will be around to help if you need me." RP the lesson for full marks. Attendance post will earn you an E. Isaiah finally free of the sling had had a blast just spending all matters of hours at the quidditch pitch, it was something he loved so much, it was just so good to feel the air in his hair, to feel the cool day as he hovered looking over the field. it had been so good to him to be able to be free of the sling, his arm so completely healed, and finally was able to spend time on the pitch and in the sport he loved without fearing that Keye was going to jump out at him, and silently scold him until he apologised. He felt almost reluctant to go to class, he didn't want to have to go, but he knew he had to. So despite how much he would've rather spend all day on the pitch flying around, building his strength, improving his throw he knew he had important classes to get to and headed back inside to get ready for them. He'd woken up early just to be able to go to the pitch first thing in the morning, he'd gone for a run at the very beginning but finally he took a shower and after getting ready headed out the dorm room and to class. The teen was hardly surprised when he walked into the room and saw the mice on the professor's desk, he knew this would be more difficult than previously but he was still sure that he could and would be able to manage it. Isaiah took a seat in the room and let his gaze linger at the front as the professor greeted them and then began the class, he couldn't help but stare at the little creatures and be a little excited to be able to try his magic on them, and eventually they were allowed to go pick one and he easily made his way to the front and took one of the small mice from the top, it was light brown in colour. He sat back down at his desk and pointed the wand at the little creature, tapping it three times and then saying, "Evansesco," the mouse didn't disappear just yet and so the boy tried again, focusing harder than ever on making the mouse disappear, he tapped it three times and then said, "Evansesco," this time it did disappear and Isaiah was left with enough time to do the spell again. Once that was done, the teen gathered up his stuff and then left the room. |

Orwell had begun being stressed, and Orwell had never really experienced stress before in his life, the moment anyone in his community got stressed it was usually dealt with in the same manner as anything else, told to take a break, but he couldn't here and now in this year he had more than he'd ever had before, more worries, more studies and more things to do. He had the OWLs he was studying for and he was growing ever more curious about the transfiguration books he was reading, as well as the Wild Patch event and on top of it all, he had noted the change in his best friend and it didn't exactly bring him comfort he didn't know what he could do to help him, and while his friend was happiest when they got to spend time together, and Orwell didn't know what to do, he felt like going home would only make things worse, but Orwell just wanted to be by his best friend's side all of the time, and he was just faced with the fact that they couldn't. Orwell didn't like the stress but he felt this dislike was more that he couldn't do anything to help his best friend and that annoyed him more than anything, but the boy didn't have time for that, he had to focus on the classes he had that day. The teen was dreading this class and it took being physically dragged to it after breakfast that the teen turned up at the room, he knew what today would involve and as soon as he sat down he noticed the mice on the professors desk and it took all of his might to not bolt directly from the room. He looked at the mice and could feel tears in his eyes, he wanted to stop them from suffering what they were about to suffer but he couldn't stop it, and he was going to be a part of it. The teen was barely keeping himself together as they were made to pick on, and he picked the first one he could touch, holding it lightly in his grasp as he sat back down. He stroked it's fur, and spoke to it like he'd done with the snail, fought the urge to give it food, and he just muttered apology after apology to it, until he had to preform the spell, which he eventually did, making the mouse disappear from right in front of him. He left the room as soon as he'd been successful barely glancing back feeling like the worst person alive. |

Carlotta Love To Give

As Carlotta entered the the Transfiguration classroom, her eyes were immediately drawn to the sound of little scampering creatures in the cage on the professor's desk. She wasn't a fan of mice - Lotta loved her birds most of all. She took a seat in the classroom and smiled politely at the professor when she greeted the classroom. She was looking forward for more challenging magic, and it seemed the professor fully intended to give them the chance. The spell was the same, but that wasn't the issue - the upgrade in creature was going to be the challenging part. The Hufflepuff was confident though. She had worked hard and practised as much as she could manage. She just hoped she didn't end up splinching the poor dear. As her name was called, Carlotta approached the professor to receive her mouse. She picked a nice little mouse and cradled it to her desk, attempting to keep a professional distance. As an animal lover, she didn't want to hurt the little guy, but vanishing was vanishing and she was here to master the spell, not collect a little zoo of fuzzy creatures. She had her doves (well, Kira had then currently) and that was enough for her. She watched the professor's example carefully, scritching her mouse affectionately behind the ear. Might as well make the little guy as happy as possible before he went away to wherever vanished things went. The professor, naturally, made it all look incredibly easy. She knew better than to get too confident because the professor made it look simple. Cooing at the little creature, she tapped her wand three times above it, focusing as intently as the level of her tone on vanishing the mouse. She had followed the professor exactly, and repeated on yet another mouse when given the chance. Once completed, she packed up her belongings, and left the classroom. |

"Mice how cute!" Prudence spoke to the teacher, picking a mouse among others so that she could hold it a bit before using it for her practice. After all she loved to become friends with the animals, and not just act as if they were objects for her to use. She had been practicing all the spells she knew she'd need, but they were all on inanimate objects. This was going to be harder, as it was on a living creature, but when was transfiguration now-a-days not on a creature that was alive. The blonde pet the small creature which seemed anxious. She knew that it was going to want to act fast. She continued to hold and pet the mouse while removing her wand from her bag. The woman opened her hand and let the mouse sniff the wand. It skittered away for a moment and Prudence acted fast to catch it. "Petrificus Totalus. I'm sorry." She apologized to the stunned mouse. "It'll wear off, I promise." She spoke before casting Evanesco at the animal and making it disappear. Feeling slightly wrong for having petrified it, Prudence couldn't even be proud of herself. |

Alexander Carter arrived in the Transfiguration classroom for the day, and he really wasn't sure whether or not he wanted to be there or would even be able to cope. He had struggled with the last lesson for the class, and he knew that if he had trouble with vanishing a snail he would have trouble vanishing a mouse. He sighed to himself and took his seat. Drawing his wand, he knew that he wouldn't be able to do anything unless he tried so he grabbed a mouse and tapped it three times, quickly capturing it when it tried to escape he said the incantation to the spell. "Evanesco." He rolled his eyes when nothing happened. He knew he wouldn't be able to get it the first try. Trying again, he smiled when he managed to vanish it. Before the next lesson he would make sure that he practiced the spell, so when he was dismissed he headed off to the common room. |
