Professor Aeon Summers

Canine Animagus ☼ Spell Inventor Magical Menagerie Proprietor Transfiguration Professor 1-4 Brodie's Familiar

"Good morning everyone!" Aeon greeted the students brightly, a smile on his face. He'd promised them last lesson that today would be more exciting. "Wands out and ready! Today, I would like you to try it out inanimate to animate transfiguration for yourselves." Professor Summers said as the students quickly complied. He withdrew his own and waved it toward his desk. Out of thin air appeared a set of teapots, of varying shapes, colours, and sizes.

"That was a conjuring spell, by the way. You won't learn it until at least 6th year. Sorry." He explained, picking up a teapot and holding it above his head. "You will each turn one of these decorative teapots into a tortoise. I want you all to be very careful when performing this spell. I will be taking points off of your grade if the tortoise breathes steam or has ceramic tiles on its shell. As pretty as it may turn out to be, we're focusing on a complete transformation."

Summers placed a teapot, bright red in colour, onto the surface of his desk. "Torte!" He intoned. With a poof, the teapot changed into a large tortoise, now brown and green.

"Come one by one and take a teapot. It's about time you gave it a try." Once everyone had got a teapot, he added, "When class ends, please bring your tortoise up to the front of the classroom for grading. Have fun, but remember to focus."
Homework:

Transfiguration was quickly becoming one of Maddie's least favourite classes, yes it was interesting and yes the spells they performed were incredible but they were performing spells on animals and it didn't seem right to her. She walked into the classroom and sat at her usual seat leaving space for Hemi and Charlotte to sit next to her ad waited for the class to begin. She learnt that they would be turning teapots into tortoises, and she had no idea how that was even possible so she listened intently to what the Professor was saying. All of this seemed unbelievable and she didn't think that she was advanced enough to be able to do it. Nevertheless, she picked a small but bright orange teapot with lots of little daises running along it and took it back to her seat. She took a deep breath and pointed her wand at the teapot and said "Torte!" but nothing happened. She sighed and sat up straight and tried again. "Torte!" and suddenly the teapot transformed into a little tortoise. She squealed in delight and carefully brought the tortoise up to the front of the classroom.

[justify]Rome found classes dull, she didn't understand why her brother liked them at all, or some how managed to tolerate them more than she did. To her they were nothing more than just a way to spend the time, perhaps it was just that he had higher ambitions and therefore was just more inclined to enjoy classes? Which seemed like a very likely thing, Rome was not overly interested in classes and didn't exactly have the same high ambitions as he had, or that she was sure he had. The young girl was feeling pretty tired when she eventually began getting ready for class, she headed out of the dorm room and to the Great Hall, where she would as always meet Cairo before heading to class, though she was often late and generally ended up meeting him in class, but by her watch she wasn't late that day, and did in fact run into him at breakfast, she took the time to just sit in silence, munching on plain toast before being finally able to head to the class of the day with him.

The teen hadn't enjoyed the last lesson, it had been a boring lecture and she was keen that this one be better than that. The girl looked at the professor as she took a seat and was definitely pleased when upon him beginning the lesson that they'd need the wands, and though he did a spell she was more interested in why they'd need tea pots, and found it oddly annoying to hear that they'd be turning them into tortoises, which was not her ideal of fun, that was nice even. She wanted to turn them into statues or something of that sort, but when instructed to, she took a light silver tea pot and took it back to her desk, pointing her wand at it, and after three taps said, "Torte," she felt a moment of joy at the teapot becoming a tortoise and then just shook her head. The spell had been successful and that was all that mattered. She handed in the tortoise as Rome left the room to practice the other spells from this semester of transfiguration.

Following instructions, Hemi took out his wand and pointed it at his inanimate teapot. He focused on what it was, and what he wanted it to be before casting the spell. "Torte" He smiled at the immediate transformation, one which didn't have a ceramic shell or anything that the Professor said would mark them down on.

He picked it up and analysed this animate life he had created from a teapot with interest. It was a funny looking tortoise, it had a flatter shell compared to his classmates tortoises, and the feet looked webbed which the others were not. It looked more like a turtle than a tortoise. He frowned, hopeful that no one would notice that it was a turtle, not a tortoise.

Rudolf could hardly believe it was week five already. The time had flown by, and with Quidditch, his friends, and four subjects to study for, it was easy to see how it had slipped past him so easily. As was the case with many of his fellow students, the young Gryffindor had been scurrying around the library in an attempt to cram in as much information as he could before his exams. They really needed all the time they could devote to their textbooks. Even Reuben was trying this year, which pleased Rudolf immensely. He wasn't embarrassed that his twin brother struggled academically, but it did disappoint him when he made no effort whatsoever. Then again, he supposed the Hufflepuff didn't particularly need to study so hard. It was only because Rudolf had his heart set on becoming an Auror that he did so himself.

He took his seat in the Transfiguration classroom, watching with an open mouth as Professor Summers conjured several items. Though he'd seen plenty of magic since his sorting at Hogwarts, it never failed to amaze him. He took himself a teapot and sat back down, tapping his wand over it three times before reciting the incantation. "Torte," he said. Nothing happened. Two tries later, the teapot finally morphed into a tortoise, although the shell still looked suspiciously like it was made of china. Shrugging, Rudolf handed it in and packed away his things.
