Summers sat on the edge of his desk as he waited for the first years to enter and gestured for them to take their seats once they did. As soon as everyone was ready, he did a quick roll call before flicking his wad toward the blackboard that hung along the back of the room. The inanimate piece of chalk sprang to life and wrote up a short, simple sentence.

Transfiguration and the Ministry of Magic

"Let's get started. Now, Transfiguration is a powerful branch of magic, as I'm sure you've all figured out by now. It's complex, but vast in it's capabilities, which is what makes it dangerous. Some people choose to follow darker paths and use Transfiguration as a weapon. As such, the Ministry of Magic has rules and punishments in place that center around this subject and its misuse. Using transfiguration on another human, or even an animal, being for the purposes of harming them or simply your own entertainment will incur these punishments." Summers paused, casting a glance across the first years present and ensuring they were paying attention. They needed to understand that Transfiguration was not like your usual jinxes and hexes. There were consequences for using it against others.

As soon as he was certain everyone was listening, he continued. "This doesn't stop at just using Transfiguration on other people. Using it on yourself has it's own laws as well. As you saw last lesson, I am capable of changing into a canine at will. The few people who have this ability are known as animagi, witches and wizards who have mastered Transfiguration to the point of altering their physical selves into an intelligent creature to most represents them. Animagus must be registered with the Ministry of Magic, with the individuals forms and markings so that they can be identified."

Stopping to make sure everyone was still following, Aeon noticed a raised hand. "Yeah?"

"Are there even rules for Inanimate to Inanimate Transfiguration?" a student asked.

"Mhm. Even for that, as odd as it sounds."

"But how could that be used wrongly, professor?" the same student asked, a bit surprised.

"There are numerous ways to abuse Transfiguration and each of its branches, which we'll be covering more in-depth in future lessons. Unfortunately, that's all we really have time for today. If you're interested, you can read up on more about it in the Library. As of now, you can focus on homework." He grinned and waved his wand toward the board, the chalk springing back into action and writing up the student's assignment.

[justify]Sianna's school life was of course shaping up, it was a little different from what she had expected it to be like, but she was enjoying it, and there was nothing of more interest to her than her new life at the school. After all, it was one of the few times she could honestly say that she was interested in learning, having never been to any school prior to this which was normal given her blood and magical parents, she was enjoying the learning aspect of the school, it was definitely something she liked, something she could see herself enjoying a lot more over the coming years she would spend at the school. Sianna was currently getting ready for class, she was putting all the things she would need for the day into her bag, ensuring that she had everything necessary and then also taking the time to get her things ready for the week. The young Ravenclaw was just so happy to be able to go to classes and do some real learning in this place. She couldn't wait to get started on the complex spells which the second week of school would allow them to do

Sianna walked into the transfiguration classroom and took her seat, she didn't think that her brother would ever care about any of these lessons and she didn't think that she'd ever really see him in any of the classes they had which was a good thing she thought. The transfiguration classes were something she was looking forward to and the girl looked to the professor at the front of the room as he began his lesson, she had been doing a little extra reading for this class, more than for any other class which she did, but she still took notes of what he was saying, she found the subject pretty fascinating more than she assumed she would, and eventually she had a question so Sianna waited for a pause before raising her hand, "Are there even rules for Inanimate to Inanimate Transfiguration?" she asked in her usual harsh Serbian accent she did listen to his response and the follow up question which someone else asked, a little frustrated that the class was over so soon, she packed up her things and then left the room.

[justify]Ares was pretty happy about the fact that he was in a new week of school, despite how the first quidditch match had gone, the young Hufflepuff was still pretty happy with himself and how things had gone overall, he wasn't sure what awaited him in the classes he would be doing that week given that they were hopefully going to get a little more complex, but the hufflepuff was still eager to perhaps learn a couple of spells, at least compared with his last school this was actually pretty interesting, he had no enjoyed most elements of his last school, but he was definitely eager to do a little better in this school, only time would tell if he did actually enjoy it and remain able to pay attention or if it would vary from class to class, the boy assumed it would vary but he was hopeful that it might not. The young boy smiled to himself as he got ready for the week, putting a few items in his bag that he might need for the day, although really the only thing of importance was his wand. With that ready, the boy left the dorm room, heading straight for the class.

Ares took a seat in the room just as the professor got started, Ares had been reluctant to attend the class and it had taken quite a bit of forcing from his brother to attend, the boy was sure that much like the last lesson this would be filled with boring lectures that he would be bored by. However the teen just took a seat and glanced at the professor as he continued speaking about transfigurations as punishments, and Ares had to admit the idea of that definitely interested him, he couldn't imagine being punished by a matter of transfiguration, how that would feel the kind of torture it would make him feel, if it even was at all. Ares couldn't imagine his parents doing that do to him, he couldn't imagine having to deal with that. The young hufflepuff listened less closely than he should and was surprised when two different voices spoke in the room, he glanced around and then back at the professor who was once again wrapping up the class. The boy had nothing in front of him, and just left the room, heading straight to the quidditch pitch so that he could get a little more practice.

Classes had turned out to be pretty okay for Eleanor, despite the fact that she had already thought a couple of them were quite boring. Her first Transfiguration lesson was definitely not what Eleanor had enjoyed but she still went into the classroom for her second lesson nonetheless, hoping that maybe they'd be able to learn a new spell. The only thing she found interesting last lesson was the fact that the professor was a dog so hopefully it would be a bit better this time. It was quite a disappointment that it wasn't and was infact another boring lecture. She tried her hardest to stay focused on the topic. Unfortunately, that was very unlike Eleanor and she had simply found herself plucking the feathers on her quill instead of taking down notes. None of it made sense to her no matter how hard she tried. Transfiguration was definitely not Eleanor's cup of tea. She left the classroom bored. Too many lectures made Eleanor feel tired, so she was off to take a nap.

[justify]Miya had found school life interesting so far, but still extremely overwhelming. She'd developed a habit of hiding in strange places to nap between classes, as she found the dorm too crowded to get much sleep. She was excited for her second Transfiguration lesson and made sure to get there on time. She'd developed a habit of arriving to class just a second before it started and even her best attempts at being early did not seem to work. She took her seat and listened to the professor talk.

Miya understood why there would be laws in place for transfiguration. She wouldn't want to be turned into a toad, and she could see how the magic could be used to bad purposes. She thought it was a little unfair that animagi had to be registered, as it seemed to her that animagi would be watched all the time. Miya had owned a pet bird when she was little, and been told by some aunt that it was actually a person in bird form, watching to make sure Miya behaved. The bird had screeched a lot at her, but now Miya didn't believe that it had been someone scolding her. Miya wrote down the assignment and headed towards the library after class. Transfiguration was shaping up to be her favourite class so far and she wanted to do well at it.

Now, Bleaire is looking forward for her transfiguration class. She would want to know how to turn her quill to a pen, or even put some magic that will make the writings in her diary invisible to anyone else. Or maybe pack all her things in a small handbag.

But their lesson today made sure she was going to get her hopes crushed. Transfiguration has a lot of rules. It would take her longer to remember the rules than learning the magic of transfiguration.

So she just listened as their professor discussed rules. They were then dismissed and she scribbled her assignment quickly before saying goodbye to their professor.

Aminia had tied her hair back in an elaborate bun, shaped like a bow on the top of her head. That day had been rather glamorous for her, as she decided to wear a few jewels to make herself feel better. it wasn't as if she were sad, though wearing the same outfit daily without change was a bit over the top for the typically fashion conscious girl. After all even her sweat pants were even the best that money could buy. Spoiled a bit she was, she figured. Her mind wasn't able to process much else about her own fashion sense before she was thrust into lecture about the ministry and the transfiguration. It wasn't her favorite lesson she was sure, but frankly lecture seemed so useless to the blonde.

Sitting with a bored expression at her desk she waited for the lesson to be over so that she could start her assignment, which wasn't rocket science she supposed. After finishing her writing she packed her things up and made her way from the class to the lawn where she could practice - though she supposed she needed a new place to practice.
