Lesson Two: Professor Effie Kingston stood in front of her polished Oak desk fiddling with the a strange magical artifact that she had come across the other day while shopping. It looked really interesting inside the shop but now she couldn't really understand why she bought it. She wasn't even sure what it did! With a soft sigh she set the artifact down and started to mull over today's lesson. Easily she realized that the first lesson of the year had been rather lengthy, theoretical in nature, and perhaps, even a little on the boring side. Math and numbers had a tendency to be boring at times and even Effie could admit that and she loved numbers! Today's lesson was going to hopefully be a lot less boring, however. Today’s lesson would be much like the study of Arithmancy itself, all about reestablishing balance. Professor Kingston stood and paced back and forth a couple of times, she hated making those poor kids suffer with long and boring lectures. But it was what she needed to teach them and that was something that was out of her control. The poor dears. Hopefully they wouldn't take it too personally or anything, if Effie could make Arithmancy more interesting for them she surely would. Not everyone appreciated this subject as much as Effie did. As the class entered the classroom she greeted them all with a sweethearted smile. Hopefully they cam here ready to learn though. "Welcome back Fourth years! It should be apparent that the Expression is concerned with both opportunity and purpose. Today, you will the opportunity to determine your Expression Number using your full given name. The purpose is to gain insight into yourself and your Divine Promise." Professor Kingston stated simply as she waited for a moment and allowed it to sink in. This lesson was going to be a bit shorter so she had the ability to take her time. Effie hated being rushed anyways. Grinning softly she began to speak again. "I'd like you all to try the calculations required carefully, copy out the description of your Expression Number from the textbook, and finally, offer a short comment on the result." After giving the class some time to do their calculations while walked around and offered aid, Effie turned her different colored eyes to the clock and frowned. Wow she must have been talking longer than she thought she was. Class was nearly over! Oh poo, looks like we're out of time pretty much. Class dismissed guys. " Professor Effie Kingston added with a another smile and a way of her hand before she made sure the chalk writing on the board instructing the class on how to do their lesson. I N S T R U C T I O N S: 1) RP the lesson 2) Go to the link below and enter your full name, including middle name(s) if appropriate, into the field. (Note: it will do the calculations for you). Victoire was enjoying being back at school. Though she did not have many extra curricular she loved all the things which Hogwarts had to offer and was enjoying every part of being back at school. She loved being part of the lessons, she loved learning and reading. She didn't know how people could be in such a school and dislike it really. It was just folded into who she was so much that it was a little beyond her still young mind. In saying that Victoire was getting ready for another week of classes. She was keen, as she always was to learn and be able to really dig her teeth into this semester. It would be easy enough to get more into the flow of things once the classes had really gotten started and everything was working out. She knew that quidditch was coming up and was excited to see it. She wanted Gryffindor to win really bad. She really did. Victoire put the final few things into her bag as she got ready to leave. Her blonde hair tied back as neatly as she could manage. Her hair was sometimes manageable and other times it was not. Her hairstyle from day to day depended on the manageability of her hair in the morning. Victoire sat down in the classroom and waited the few moments until the professor began her lesson. She listened along to what what being said. She had always found that the Arithmancy classes though occasionally odd were still really pretty good. She was really interested in what they were learning. So, when it was up to them to find out the expression number, she began to do the calculations, doing it with her full name, including her middle name. Which while not long, did still mean she had a lot to write and it was always that point with her full name written out that she realised her middle name and surname both had something to do with water. She smiled slightly as she finally figured it out, just in time for the lesson to be wrapped up. She double checked her answer before putting away her things and then leaving the classroom. She hadn't truly agreed with some parts of what her expression number had said about her, but since there was little she could do about it, the teen didn't really care. She would try to be sure that she didn't become those things just because something said she would.
