[justify][justify]     Professor Kingston was greatly pleased at the progress her small, but committed group of fourth years had made this year. They had done such a good job and she couldn't brag enough about what a wonderful group they were. What they lacked in numbers, they made up for in effort and insight…two qualities that they would need to succeed in Arithmancy at the OWL level and perhaps beyond to the NEWT level. Effie waited patiently until they were all seated with their writing supplies out so they could be able to take notes if they felt the need to. Professor Kingston pulled out her wand and curtly aimed it at the board where words in neat cursive writing appeared. The words Expression, Heart’s Desire and Personality appeared in succession on the three boards behind her. "Today will be a review session in preparation for your upcoming examination." Professor Kingston opened softly. "You will need to be able to complete the calculations for each of these three Core Elements and combine your findings for success on your examination." Carefully she pointed her wand at the first board and words began to appear below the Expression heading. As they appeared Professor Kingston urged the class to play attention.
Quote:

The Expression is concerned with purpose, opportunity, and an individual’s Divine Promise.
It is calculated by using the Pythagorean Number System and all of the letters of the individual’s name, including the middle name if applicable.

Professor Kingston then pointed her wand at the second board and words appeared below the Heart's Desire heading. Hopefully by now the class was paying full attention.
Quote:

The Heart’s Desire is concerned with our innermost being, what we are most passionate about.
It reveals what motivates our instinctive behavior and our hidden talents.
It is calculated by using the Pythagorean Number System and the vowels of the individual’s given name and surname.

Professor Kingston stepped to the side and waved her wand at the last and final of the three boards. By now she could tell that the class was either very interested or just wonder what the point of all of this was.

Quote:

The Heart’s Desire is concerned with the outer world and the impact it may have on us.
It reveals what we are capable of, but not necessarily passionate about.
It is calculated by using the Pythagorean Number System and the consonants of the individual’s given name and surname.

Professor Kingston turned to the class and added with finality. "This is all you will need. Good luck on your examinations and have an enjoyable summer." With that said, Professor Kingston gave the class a bright smile and waved them off before she returned to her desk, completely available should any of the students have any last minute questions or things they wanted to talk to her about.
