"Good morning, class." Aeon began as soon as his students had all arrived and found their seats. He waved his wand at the open door and it swung shut with a quiet click, muffling the disruptive chatting and shouting from the corridor as other students went to and from classes, or wandered around on their free time. Leaning back into the comfort of his armchair, which had been transfigured to his tastes, the Professor continued. "Excellent work on the mice last lesson, I was happy to see that we mostly avoided any severe splinching. Don't worry, practice makes perfect and I don't expect you all to perform well on your first tries." Drawing the students attention away from him, the Professor waved his wand over to far corner, illuminating a lone desk containing a glass habitat. "We'll be moving on from mice today, but if anyone isn't too confident in their vanishing, or would like to practice some more, I've brought in a couple of the little rodents to start on." he got to his feet and walked around the classroom, passing the front of the student's desks as he spoke. "However, as always we'll be focusing on vanishing something more complex this lesson." With a tap of his wand, Summers conjured up a bright yellow duckling on the desk of a rather surprised student. "Ducks!" He exclaimed, and before it could waddle away, he scooped the fluffy creature into his hand. "Even the ducklings are far bigger than a mouse, and more difficult to vanish. You'll all be working with adults this lesson." The Professor said as he returned to his own desk and set it down, letting the creature waddle across its surface. With another few taps of his wand, the duckling vanished just as quickly as it had appeared. "Now, as soon as you're all ready, I'll conjure you your owns ducks. I want you to practice with it moving about the room, rather than keeping it contained on your own desks. If you'll all stand up, we can get started." As soon as each student had risen, Summers banished their desks and chairs to one side of the classroom, giving them more space to work with. Then, with three taps of his wand, he'd conjured up a sord of mallards in the open area. "Go for it! I want to see every one of you give it your best shot." Homework: RP the lesson. |

Rhiannon was enjoying transfiguration this semester, vanishing was probing to be very useful, especially when tidying up mess. she was getting apt at vanishing paper and broken quills. it was great. Today she took a seat and listened as the professor explained what they would be vanishing today. ducks. they were bigger and more complex than mice. she watched as he conjured a duckling onto his desk. "aww, cute" she said quietly, she had always thought ducklings were cute, there had been a park across the road from her when she had had been little and each spring she used to take the bread crusts over to it and feed the dicks and watch as the little ducklings followed their mother about. she hoped that she wouldn't have to vanish one. deciding to pass on the mice and head straight onto ducks she headed up to the professors desk. "professor, please may i have an adult duck, i would feel bad vanishing the ducklings" she said. and smiled when an adult duck appeared for her. "thank you professor" she said. and took it to the spot where her desk had been. before giving it a bit of a head start. before pointing at it with her wand and imagining it gone. "Evanesco" she said, nothing. she tried to get a little closer as it waddled away maybe aware of what was to come this time she managed to tap it, well two out of three times wasn't bad, unfortunately it didn't seem like the bir liked being tapped by the wand and it took to the air to try and escape. It only managed one lap of the classroom before it flew right over her. she raised her wand and focused. taking it as it flew over her "Evesco" she said, and watched as it vanished. unfortunately she should have cast it earlier as it seemed the bird had pooped just before he vanished leaving a big streak of bird poo on her robes. "Scourefy" she said pointing her wand at the mark and a moment later it was gone, magic really was wonderful like that at times. It wasn't long before the class was over. she packed her bag and went over to professor Summers "thank you for class today professor summers. it was good fun. do you need a hand cleaning up the mess?" she said as there were feathers and bird poo all over the place. at Professor Summers' assurances that he would be fine she left the room trying to remember if a a bird pooing on you was good or bad luck. |
