Name:Prudence Armstead Year:Second Lesson Missed:2-4 Lesson Two Prudence was prepared for note taking, and had even brought with her an extra bottle of un-open ink in case she might run out. The petite brunet smiled and said good morning to a few familiar face, and took a seat at the front of the classroom with a confident air rolling off her. She had just received a letter from her fathers not too long ago, and it had boosted her confidence to a new high. She had just arranged her papers when the teacher arrived and told them they'd actually be casting spell. The young lion nearly let out a yelp, doing a small dance-like movement in her seat to show her excitement. She listened eagerly to instruction and was one of the first student to get the jar as Aaliyah - a slytherin girl she'd worked with before - held the jar for people to reach into. Prudence didn't look, closing her eyes and randomly choosing a rather sleek, black bug from the mason jar. Once everyone was starting, Prue took in a breath, hoping to be able to cast this right. The confidence she had walking in had faltered a small amount, but it was still there. She steadied herself to tap the wand a few gentle times on the beetle, which moved about slightly. This was going to prove to be more difficult than she'd anticipated. Placing her wand down and holding the beetle she said the spell over and over, getting the pronunciation through her head in hopes that saying the spell right would be enough to change the beetle perfectly. She held the beetle in her hand and took a breath, picking up her wand finally. "I promise this wont hurt." She reassured the beetle, before tapping it three times and saying "Praepilatus". With a poof the beetle was a button, black and sleek as before. It had a leg and two antennas, but it was a button none-the-less. Excited Prue turned it in, and took her leave. Next time she'd do better, and maybe she'd practice on the grounds. Lesson Three Prue was late, terribly so - okay only about two minutes. But walking into that class and having heads turn made the poor girl more embarrassed than it should of. Se offered rushed apologies, and took an unfamiliar seat near the middle of the class. The professor had only just started to explain, so she was very lucky she'd gotten in when she did Prudence had only wanted five more minutes, and that turned into fifteen easily. She had rushed out of the room, pulling her sweater vest over her white button down. Her hair was a curly mess, pulled into a manageable bun now, and she would have to brush it later. That was not on her mind once the professor had started passing out her chipmunks. "Oh look how cute!" Prudence nearly squealed as she pet the thing, calming it down enough to sit rather nicely in the palm of her hand. Prue had always had a special way with animals. She had once caught a blue jay, just by using food to lure it down to her. Once everything was explained, Prue felt better about casting the spells, and was willing to do so. She introduced the little rodent to her wand, letting him sniff it, but pulling it away if he tried to chew on it. She placed an image in her mind of a wooden statue, something carved as if hand made. She then gave the chipmunk three taps before saying the spell and changing it. At first the young lion did not open her eyes. She felt no movement, the cold wood against her hand. She set the statue down and finally opened her eyes to see the statue. it was done rather nicely - hair here and there and a few whiskers sticking out - it was passable. She felt better knowing that unlike another girls, hers wasn't blinking. She gave the statue back for grading and left that day, wondering where they kept the chipmunks on campus. |
