Jonathan's lecture would not be so long today, something that he figured his students would probably revel in. Last week's lecture had been extremely long, but he hoped it had been informative. He knew that History was not always the most interesting subject for every individual, but on the flip side, they had decided to go through with this course. He was on a mission to make it as painless as possible, although he knew that he had to be at least a bit rigorous. Soon, these students would be unleashed upon the world and thrust into the harsh realities of working life...and they had to get through the NEWTs first. He smiled as his students filed in, greeting them cheerfully, "Welcome, everyone. My lecture shouldn't run so long today- none of the other founders have such an articulate past as Slytherin. Today, we will be covering Godric Gryffindor. Make sure you're taking notes again, you will most definately need them for the exams." "Now, unlike the other founders we can actually pinpoint where Godric lived. He came from "wild moor," although more specifically he was born in the West Country, in a place that is now known as Godric's Hollow. Godric was an accomplished dueller of his time and an avid fighter against Muggle discrimination. He also believed that anyone with magical ability had the right to attend Hogwarts. Gryffindor did not agree with Slytherin's purist views, causing the latter to leave the school." “The Sorting Hat, as you may recall, originally belonged to Gryffindor, along with a goblin made sword adorned with rubies. The house of Gryffindor sports the colors of gold and red and the emblem of a lion, reflecting to many the quality of bravery." Jonathan clapped his hands, realizing that his ending to the lecture was not so artistic. Well, at least I didn't go too over the top, he thought to himself, smiling at the students. "Today's lecture is over; I hope to see you here next week. You are dismissed." Homework Assignment: Rp taking notes. |

Aaren Nightray never expected that would enjoy History of Magic. While she did enjoy reading, she preferred to do it as a form of recreation, and thus, she had thought that she would find History of Magic to be quite difficult, and honestly, pretty boring. She was proven wrong though. Yes, they did have to read a lot, but the lessons were pretty interesting. On top of that, she was able to learn some things that she knew, the books would not be able to tell her. It was like traveling back in time. Yes it was pretty difficult, but it was not boring at all. Seated at her desk, the Gryffindor prefect brought out her writing materials to prepare to take some notes. She did not trust her memory to completely remember all the things that she would hear today. It would be wise to take some notes, after all, she had promised that she would be studying harder this semester. For herself, but mostly for her parents. It seemed impossible, but she was determined to make them proud. It did not take long for the class to start. She listened attentively, nodding occasionally as she wrote down the information with her messy handwriting. She would have to rewrite this later, but for now, it would do. Last meeting, they talked about the founder of Slytherin. He seemed like a fairly interesting guy but he didn't sound too nice, after all, he did want to rid Hogwarts of all those students whom he thought were not deserving to attend it. Shrugging, she turned her attention back to their professor. No use trying to put herself on Slytherin's shoes and seeing things at his perspective, because right now, they were going to learn about the founder of her own house, Godric Gryffindor. Gryffindor's story wasn't as long as Slytherin's, and honestly, she would have loved to learn more. After all, he was the founder of her house, it was only natural that she was curious about him. She did agree with Gryffindor's views though. While she was from a family of blood supremacists, she never did share their views. She smiled as the sorting hat was mentioned. It was such a curious thing. Amusing too. It would be fun to own one. Once they were dismissed, the prefect read over her notes, frowning as she realized that indeed, she had to rewrite everything later. |
