Lesson 2 Professor Kingston sat at her large wooden desk, quietly thinking of some options for the coming year after entering the marks for her Sixth Years into her Gradebook. They seemed to be a bright bunch so she hade faith that they would be fine learning new subjects for this year, after all they were preparing to take the highest form of examinations that Hogwarts can offer next year. When the students began to arrive she motioned for them to Quickly sit down so she could begin today’s lesson, it was exciting and challenging at the same time so she had no time to waste in her lecture. Once they were all seated she stood up from her desk quickly and stopped right in front of her desk, now that the class was all present she could begin. ”Over your past few years of study you have become familiar with the essentials that offer insight into your character, motivations, and opportunities. We will now take your learning one step further and find out how your individual nature is effected by the timing of key events and cyclic influences.” Effie started off carefully and slowly, this year was filled with lessons that weren’t exactly her most favorite parts to teach but they had to be taught so the Sixth years could all do well on their NEWT’s the following year. Professor Kingston started to pace again, a habit she usually did when she began to lecture on about something. ”Today we will be discussing the Personal Year. The Personal Year is a vibration that you can immediately recognize and receive benefit from. Even in your relatively short lives, perhaps you have already noticed that during some years you have felt particularly restless and eager to begin new undertakings? Or that in other years you felt quite content to stay at home? You may have even felt like you were letting go of much with which you previously identified and experienced great anticipation about the future. What I am describing is the influence that The Personal Year can have on you. Our lives have a certain rhythm and there are optimal times to initiate new tasks and now is your time to learn about how to discover these times and In order to calculate your Personal Year, we must first determine the Universal Year.” Professor Kingston pulled out her wand and carefully pointed it at the board where some text began to appear neatly on it.
Once Effie carefully explained how to Calculate the Personal year she made sure that she also told the students there they could find descriptions and results on their Personal Year. It was simple enough as long as one had an open mind and wanted to learn it. ”Your homework is to discover your Personal Year and comment briefly on the result. Class Dismissed.” She mused softly before she waved them off and took a seat back at her desk so she could finish grading papers. Homework: 1. Roleplay the lesson 2. For Extra Credit Calculate your Personal Year and comment briefly on Results Personal Year

Sixth year Aaren Nightray knew that she was running late. She had been meaning to arrive at her Arithmancy class early so she could do some advance reading while waiting for the class to start, however, she had been delayed mainly because a few first years had asked for her help. She had problem helping other people, in fact, she enjoyed it, but even she had her limit, especially if the help that was being asked of her was to lead said first years to their potions classroom. Whatever it was that they would be doing there, considering how she believed that they didn't have potions that day or at that hour, she did not ask. She was already on her sixth year and even she gets lost trying to navigate the dungeons at times. But being her, and with her duties as a prefect, no matter if they were from a different house, she decided to help them. And thus there she was, running like her life depended on it. She heaved a sigh of relief as she managed to enter the room on time. She probably looked horrible, but she could care less about that, what was important was that she was able to arrive on time, no matter how close she was to being late. She took her usual seat and carefully arranged her writing utensils on top of her desk. Though she was not that fond of numbers, Aaren loved arithmancy. Sure, she was not that good at it, but she was trying. That should count, right? Her only worries was the NEWT's. With the way that she was now, she doubted that she would be able to pass it that easily. She still had a year though. She knew she had to study harder. Tucking her hair behind her ears, the prefect listened as their professor began the lesson. She nodded as she took a few notes about the things that she thought were important. Their professor was right, there were indeed some years when she feel extremely restless, this year for example, she had a lot of things that she wanted to do, too much in fact that she wasn't sure whether she would be able to get all of them done in time. The red head raised her eyes to look at the board as a sample calculation of the personal year appeared on it. She copied it down as a guide for her own calculation. She couldn't trust her memory to remember everything without writing it down after all. Once they were dismissed, she quickly packed her things and left the room. She still had a lot of things to do, but doing the homework was the first thing that was on her list. |
