Canine Animagus ☼ Spell Inventor Magical Menagerie Proprietor Transfiguration Professor 1-4 Brodie's Familiar

As the wall-mounted clock in the hallway ticked to twelve, the door to the Transfiguration classroom swung quietly open to allow the small gathering of students outside to enter and take their seats, ready for their first lesson of the year. It was going to be an exciting, albeit stressful year for them all, as fifth-years going on to take their O.W.Ls, their first major exam that would decide whether or not they would continue with the subject. The pressure was on and they had a lot to learn.

As soon as the students had chosen a desk and settled into their seats, from across the hall another door opened and a large dog padded out, furred tail swaying as it entered the classroom and made its way towards the front of the room. Most eyes were focused on the unexpected appearance of the canine, watching as it approached the professor's desk. It stopped at its destination, turning back to face the young witches and wizards and changing into a man in the same instant. In seconds Aeon stood where the dog once was, ears and a tail slowly shrinking away as he leaned against his desk, grinning. The entry was less of a show of his transfigurative prowess and more an idea to help the students realise the full potential of the subject and raise their interest.

"Good afternoon, everyone! Welcome back to another year of Hogwarts, and of course, Transfiguration! It's good to see a lot of you have chosen to continue the subject. I'm Professor Aeon Summers, a former student here. It's a pleasure to meet you all, and to be able to teach you what I believe is one of the greatest forms of magic. Now, let's dive right in." He strode around to the back of his desk, flicking his wand briefly at the blackboard decorating the rear of the room. A piece of chalk jumped to life and began to eagerly write up the day's lesson plan. "Today," he started, eyes on the class. "We'll be learning about Vanishing Spells, which are pretty self-explanatory, really. Essentially you'll be learning to make an object disappear over the next few lessons. This isn't to say it becomes invisible, more that it physically ceases to exist, a state known as "non-being". Of course, these spells have several useful applications."

The man raised his wand with a flourish, this time conjuring up a small leather-bound book from thin air. He held it up in his free hand for everyone in the room to clearly see. "Take this scenario for example. Let's say this is your personal diary. It's full of all of your inner thoughts and feelings, things you don't want other people to read and snoop through. It can be difficult to hide, especially when you're sharing a room with others." he explained, then tapped the book with his wand. "Evanesco." he intoned clearly. Immediately, the diary vanished and his fingertips closed around empty air. "Poof. Gone. Your secrets hidden in non-existence."

The Professor leaned back as a few of the students looked on with interest, their minds no doubt already reeling with the uses of the Vanishing spell. "...Unfortunately you won't actually be learning how to Conjure objects until next year though. so at this stage you won't be able to retrieve anything you vanish. But hey! All the more reason to continue with your studies." he beamed at them and sat down, glancing quickly at the time. They only had a few minutes left by this point. "Before we wrap up, take note that the spell I used today was Evanesco, which you'll learn to use next lesson." The chalk wrote the spell's name and pronunciation on the board behind him as he spoke, for everyone to jot down. "We're going to start small, with inanimate objects, before we move on to the more complex, living things. Annnd, that's all for today, sadly. For a little extra credit, if you'd like you can write down one, or multiple uses for the Vanishing Spell to hand in to me next lesson. Class dismissed."

Homework: RP the lesson. For extra credit, give me an example of how you could use a Vanishing spell.

Magical, Medical Intern.

Rhiannon headed to the transfiguration classroom. this year they would have a different professor, and a professor who was new to the school to top it off. She sat down in her usual seat and took out a pen and notepad ready to start the years transfiguration. She looked up as one of the other doors opeed and a dog walked in. did professor Summers have a pet? professors had less strict rles on what they were allowed than students. or was this the professor. She had seen professor Davenshire trandform into a dog on a few occasions, so maybe professor summers was an animagus too. it seemed like her scond guess as right as the dog started to change shape and bcome a man.
she looked at the professor he seemed quite young, and quite good looking too. she bit her tounge, he was probably twice her age. and class was about to begin. As soon as the professor started speeking she began taking notes. Professor summers first of all introduced himself and said that he had been a student here. that was interesting, and explainedd why his name was familiar. but before she could think of exactly where she had seen it the actual content started. vanishing spells sunded interesting. and rather useful. the bit about being able to vanish a diary into noexistance, to hide it from pying eyes sounded initially like a good idea, at least until the part where you ouldnt be able o et it back, then it seemed pointless. well at least util next year when she would be able to counjor as well.
after a while the class was over and she startedto pack up her things. once she was done she went over to the professor. "Thank you for class today professor Summers. I am looking forward to the rest of the semester. I am Rhiannon Mcgowan, a hufflepuff." she said, not quite making full use of her language, but she hoped that her scottish accent masked some of the flaws in grammar. once she was done she left the room a little embarassed and headed up to the library, to do her homework, however she was slightly destracted by the old yerbook and she decided to see if she coul find professor summers.

the uses of vanishing spels.
they can be used if you are on a picnic and don't want your rubbish to be blown away.
are a good way of hiding birthday presents (if you know how to return them.
that is)

O. +3 Points for Extra Credit.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Rhiannon! Hopefully you continue your studies over the next few years. I look forward to teaching you. Feel free to approach me if you have any questions or need any help."
