Professor Black sat at her desk, looking forward to today's lesson. A number of water glasses sat on her desk, ready to be used in practice today. As her students filed into the class, she smiled at them and waited for them to find their seats. Once they were settled, she rose and began the class. "Welcome! I am rather excited for today's lesson, and hope you will be too," she said with a smile. "Conjuring is our focus this year. Who can tell me what it means to conjure?" Professor Black looked around the room, and called on the first hand that rose. After listening to the answer, she smiled and continued. "You are correct. I really like that answer." Moving back towards her desk, she picked up a goblet. She tapped her wand three times and spoke the incantation, "Aguamenti". A stream of water flowed out from her wand, and filled her glass. "Today we will be conjuring water. The spell is Aguamenti. Let's say that together please. Aguamenti." She listened to the class repeat the word. "Wonderful. There are a few key things to remember with conjuring. First, you must concentrate. Picture in your mind the object that you are wishing to have. For example, I filled the goblet by picturing it filled with water. This also helps to control the amount of water you get, or amount of any other object for that matter. The more accurate and detailed you picture what you are trying to conjure the better the result. Second, you still need to use the three tap method and speak the incantation carefully. If you say it wrong, you might just have a different result." She smiled at them, hoping the students understood her warning was to be headed, but not to fret about it. Even the best wizard or witch goofed occasionally. "With that, please come an pick out a drinking glass. You can continue to practice as much as you need. I do request that I get to taste your water for grading. Make sure when you are picturing the water in your mind, you also envision the taste and smell. Accuracy and detail are important. I will be here for any questions you may have." With that, she let them get to work, sitting at her desk ready for them to bring her the water to test out. Homework: Simply RP the lesson. Please bring the water up to me to taste and grade. |

Now, it was time for the next lesson of the week. Nikandros Matthias walked toward the classroom that he had to be in. This was not too bad. Starting out, he wondered what all he could do this week without goofing off. His mind was completely on Alaska, and he could not remove her from it as much as he tried. He would be lying if he said that he was not afraid of her family because he was. The Zhefarovich family were scary people. But possibly being with Alaska made it all worthwhile to him. Nikandros let out a sigh and he wondered what he could do about the whole thing. He walked into the classroom he had to be in, and being a sixth year, the workload would be getting harder than ever before. He was not sure if he was okay with that. At least the OWLs were over. The first thing that they would need to do was concentrate, and then to picture the object that they were wishing to have in their mind. Nikandros could do that. He hoped that it would be as easy as it sounded, but he knew, it never was. He could not wait until he could try it out for himself, just to see if he could get it. The three-tap method seemed to be required, as per always. went up to the front where he picked out a drinking class. He went back to the desk and he flourished his wand. he used the three tap method upon the goblet before he intoned the spell in a clear voice after she visualized the goblin filled with cool, clean water. Water spilled from his wand and filled the goblet up. He took the goblet into his hand, and he took it up front to grade. The water was crisp, clean, and the only thing wrong with it was the fact that it was not cold. After his work was graded, he left the classroom silently. |

The week of lessons started again, and this would be the content lessons. Damon Kyle tried to stay as positive as he could, but it was not really good right now. The prefect meeting was horrible. Sergei lost his temper which was rare enough. Damon did not know why Sergei was getting like he was, but he assumed it was because of some secret training he is going through. Either that or that diet of his was making him irritable. Damon let out a sigh as he walked into the classroom and found his seat once more. He missed Alaska, and wondered if he was into that one Gryffindor prefect. They would make a nice couple, if Nikandros was not a big jerk. Then again, there was nothing he could do about that. He would not rat Alaska out to Benjamen either. That would not be okay at all. Nikandros would be in a world of trouble. Finally the lesson began, and Professor Black was apparently excited for the lesson. They were going to be conjuring! He raised his hand and he replied once he was chosen, “To conjure something is bringing an item or an object from thin air.” He was right too! The professor then said a word, Aguamenti, and he conjured water. He spoke the name of the spell when they were told. They would also need the three tap method. Once they were given a gauntlet to conjure the water in, Damon tapped the edge of the cup with his wand three times before he intoned the spell clearly. He managed to conjure up some clear water and then he brought it up to the desk to taste. Once he was dismissed, he went out of the classroom to go try to master the spell even more. He hoped to continue on. |

Sergei Zhefarovich walked into the Transfiguration classroom and he found his seat in the back of the classroom as per usual. He actually liked the classes that he was in now, and there was not much he could do about the others. His dad would be all over him if he had skipped classes like he constantly thought that he should do when it came down to History of Magic, at the very least. Sergei settled into his seat and he moved the black hair from his sliver eyes. He did not know where that trait of his came from, but it was certainly a good one. There was only so much one could do for the day, and he hoped that they were not going to be doing anything that would make him fall asleep. He looked at the other fifth years in here before he rolled his stormy eyes. Sighing, this was just not beginning enough for him. This year, the professor told them once everyone was seated, they were going to be focusing on conjuring. Sergei raised his hand lazily and he said,"Conjuring means to bring something out of thin air." Then she conjured water in front of them, and then told them that conjuring was what they were going to be focusing on. The spell was called Aguamenti. He did not say the word with the class because that was not what he thought was appropriate for older teenagers. They were also told how to conjure it, and it seemed to be a fairly easy task anyway. Sergei picked out a glass, and then were told that they needed to practice some. He went up to get a glass and then he cast the spell, "Aguamenti." Somehow, the gauntlet filled up with clear water, though it was not as cold as he wanted it to be. He didn't care though. He was done. He finished up everything and he left the classroom. The second week of lessons was a little easier, but not completely easy either. Bryce Chamberlin walked into the classroom, his head hung a little lower than his normal activity. Everything will get easier, once he had the time to grieve and move on. He knew that he would never forget his dad though. He would not mind if he could see his dad again, if he could just get his dad to become a ghost. If he had not showed up yet at the house, then he would never be able to contact him again. Ever. He needed some fatherly advice. He let out a sigh, as he found his seat. He did not bury his head into his arms, but he did look down at the wooden desk. He needed to focus a bit more on the studying, and getting his mind off of everything. He really needed it. From what he could read, the professor was excited for the day's lesson. Conjuring something would happen today, but he did not know what he would conjure at all. He thought about some of the things, but he didn't dwell on it. The teacher said a word that he did not recognize, and made sure that he got the right thing from Rosie, before turning his attention back to the class. They would be filling up a glass with water. That seemed easy enough, but that was not true. Conjuring was hard work. He retrieved a glass, tapped it three times and attempted the spell. Not even a drop. He tried it again. It took him a while before he managed to fill it up, but it worked. He walked up to have it graded before he left. |

The second week had rolled around in no time at all, and Tybalt was honestly so excited. he'd been on a high since the weekend. Having won the quidditch game, and then been able to celebrate it. They were one step away from winning the cup, and Tybalt was sure that they would be able to. He really wanted to. Ty smiled happily, he couldn't stop. Even as he got ready for the first lesson of the day in this second week. The gryffindor was looking forward to the next game, but he was just looking forward to having a little bit of fun. He was helping his team get on form, but he didn't doubt that they were incredibly capable. He was looking forward to the next game, against the slytherins. Tybalt was getting ready for the day. He had his quidditch stuff tucked away at the end of his bed, he was looking forward to getting some practice in after this lesson, he was just in general working very hard at it. He was splitting his time between lessons, studying and quidditch. He felt that as a sixth year, without incredibly serious exams, he could give more of his time to quidditch. Not that in Fifth year he'd given less, but in this term he felt a little less bad about it. Sitting down in the transfiguration classroom, the boy was smiling to himself. He was just looking forward to this class. He couldn't wait to get started. He couldn't wait to just give some new spells a go. He knew it might be tricky but he was definitely looking forward to it. Looking to the front of the room, the boy listened as the professor took them what they'd be doing. Conjuring water, that seemed like a pretty good idea. It seemed like it would be pretty sound. A pretty good thing to be able to do. A useful spell and possibly a lot of fun for messing with his cousins, and his siblings if they decided to have a water fight. He took a class from the front, repeating the spells a few times out and then, imagined the class filled with water. Not to the point where he might drop some water carrying the glass back to the professor's desk. He pointed his wand at it, tapped it three times and then said, "Aguamenti", the glass filled instantly. He glanced at it, and then took it to the front to get graded. Once that was done, he just gathered his things and then left the room. |
