[Justify]The semester had flown by it seen in a blink of an eye. It was only yesterday that he was standing before a classroom of untrained wizards and witches who knew little about common charms. However it seemed that with hard work and determination most if not all had picked up all the important skills need to complete their second year in charms. After the Exam he would not see some of his students again for a year while some would either transfer to a new school or simple decided to be homeschool. It was somewhat sad but he knew that it would not be long before he was reunited with them again. To commemorate a term of hard work he decided to throw a small party for his kids.

On a table at the back of the room was a plethora of popular snacks, treats, and refreshments that they would be allow to pick over, compliments to the house elves of course. There was a radio that played the wizarding world’s modern day music that people can sing or dance to while there were various games like the twister that anyone who want to play could. For students who needed to take time to study or catch up he would write a pass to the library for them to find some peace and quiet to work. He of course had some papers to grade to get caught up but the noise did not bother him all too much so he would remain in class to supervise and answer any questions. Once the class was in and settled he addressed them quickly before letting them go about their business.

Hey everybody! Because you have worked so hard this term I have decided to throw you a little party to thank you for being one of the best classes I have ever taught. There are snacks, music, and games for all of you who are caught up on your work this year. For those of you who need to catch up or simply want to study come up and see me and I will write you a pass to the library. Other than have fun and enjoy!” James said as he motioned for the kids to have fun or leave for the rest of the class.

Iason couldn't believe that this was the last week of classes before exams and the end of his first semester of second year. The first half of the year had quickly flown in but it wasn't over yet. There was still two weeks before exams started and a Quidditch game in the middle and Yule Ball before they went home, so Iason knew that even though it was the last week of classes he had a lot more to look forward too before going home for Christmas. He had thought about staying at the castle this year to maybe get ahead for second semesters work but he figured the best idea would be to go home and maybe even return early if he wanted to get a head start.

Making sure he had all of his notes from previous classes with him, just encase the Professor decided to have a review lesson, Iason made his way to the classroom, noticeably feeling the extra weight in his bag on the journey, but he didn't let it bother him. Entering the classroom he took his seat and placed his writing equipment in front of him, waiting for the lesson to start. Iason figured that today was going to be a relaxed lesson going by the obvious changes to the classroom. When Professor Killian addressed the class Iason was relieved when he heard that those that wanted to study could go to the library. Iason knew exams were coming up and he would much rather study than spend a perfectly good lesson wasting it doing something like eating sweets any time he wanted. When Professor Killian finished talking Iason packed up his things and got his pass to go to the library.

The classroom buzzed with the hubbub of twittering students, mingled with the latest in wizarding musical greats. Lorin was not sure quite what to make of it all as he entered the classroom, prim and proper in his school uniform with a half smile fixed upon his face. His hair was about the only thing which seemed to remain in keeping with the party atmosphere, being wild and untameable as it so frequently was.
The boy joined in around the snack table, feeling a little peckish, helping himself to a small handful of biscuits and a glass of fresh pumpkin juice before he sat down in the most readily available seating, and pulled out his Charms class textbook. Even if he was to indulge in some form of down time, the Ravenclaw second year could not resist brushing up on a little study.

As he read on through various chapters, still amending and creating new notes in preparation for the exams, Lorin popped another biscuit into his mouth and thought about home. His little sister would be running riot as per usual, and his mother would no doubt be turning a blind eye to it quite happily. Unless she was at work, busy caring for people she didn't even know. People of no consequence to her further than a pay cheque. People who would likely never wake from their ill states. She would give them the time of day, Lorin thought to himself, taking another bite of his biscuit and finding the mouthful suddenly to taste quite sour- which prompted him to wonder if they were mood-based flavours, but his own mother never wrote a word to him.
Sighing inwardly as the party finally drew to a close, Lorin pushed his book and spare notes back inside of his school bag and stood up. He approached the Professor to speak, thanking him for all of his support and educational offerings he had given throughout the semester. Finally, Lorin allowed himself to leave the classroom for the solitude of his bed; he needed a few minutes alone to think about his life, what he had lost, and what there was still to be gained.
