"Hello class! I am going to make today’s lecture very short, as I am slightly tired from last week!" Professor Spenser chuckled lightly to the class. "Ok," Professor Spenser clapped his hands together. "Here we go!" Professor Spenser walked around to the front of his desk as he so commonly did when lecturing.

"Today we are going to discuss Easter Island. This great historical site is one of the most mysterious and has one of the most amazing scenes. There are many theories about how the massive structures were built. Some of the statues are up to 70 feet tall and 40 tons each. It is mind boggling to think of how the ancient people were able to carve and move these objects without the assistance of modern technology. Did you know that there are over 200 statues that were never removed from the volcano from which the stone was taken? Truly amazing to think about!" Professor Spenser looked around at the students excitedly.

"All I want from each of you for homework tonight is to write an essay of about 150 words on your own theories of how these great figures were made and moved. This will be due next week. Class dismissed!"
Homework Assignment:

Pretty easy, huh? All I want is for you to write an essay on your own theories about how the figures of Easter Island were constructed and moved. You may use already existing theories or create your own. Either way, I would be happy if you did your homework.....*hint hint*. There may be a little treat in store if 50% or more of you do this assignment *wink wink*.
