Charms, All Years | Passionate | Laid Back

[justify]Professor Haden was working through a previous student’s essay. It had been from of the previous schools he had helped out. It was a good essay, though lacked in some parts. He looked up and realised that it was almost time for his second charms lesson of the semester. Which made him feel happy. He was glad to be teaching another class. Getting out of the boring introductions and all that. He stood up and went to his magical kettle, where he made himself a cup of some good Earl Grey tea. He loved his tea, and was constantly drinking it. So, as he made his tea, he could hear the students filling into the room. Once boiled, he added a drop of lemon and a spoonful of sugar to the tea and let it mix itself. He smiled to himself as he clasped the tea in his hand and entered the classroom, closing the door of his office behind him, and smiling at his students. "Good morning sixth years" He said with a large smile at his students. He placed his tea on his desk before turning to the room. Before moving to the board and writing by hand, one word, Incarcerous. He underlined it, and wiped his hands as he faced the class, still smiling, still looking very happy to be the professor of Charms. He was a friend guy, and this came across in his mannerisms. Relaxed shoulders, real smile. Real joy in his voice. His spirits hadn’t yet been broken.

"Today sixth years, you'll be learning the spell Incarcerous," He said as he motioned to word on the board. Leaving his spot by the board and standing in front of the class, being sure to make eye contact with all the students. To be sure they were paying attention. Even those sitting up the back. "Can anyone tell me, what this spell does? Let’s see who did the reading for this week." He asked, with a smile. The reading wasn’t required, but he sort of expected his students to be reading. He picked on a student, who sat fairly close to the front. They answered with thankfully the correct answer, "It conjures ropes, to bind someone." Professor Haden smiled at the kid, before continuing for them. "Or something, let me show you." He said, before, pulling the wand from inside his suit trouser pockets and making a dummy appear from behind the chalkboard.

"Like, with any spell imagining in your head what you want to happen, will help with the success of the spell. Especially in the beginning" He intoned the word Incarcerous firmly, and a mass of thick ropes appeared out of nowhere, wrapping about the inanimate object tightly. Simple. He turned to face the students once more. "As you can see, using this spell on objects that do not move is much easier than something that is moving. This spell is quite useful for duelling purposes- and of course, when you want to catch something and detain it. However, while at school, the spell should only be used for supervised duelling purposes. With the exception very possibly of prefects using it on those first years who run around hyped up on sugar." He said, The spell was not to be used lightly. It wasn’t a joke, it wasn’t friendly. He wanted students to know that unless it was a duel being watched by a professor.

"That is all for today." Misha said clasping his hands together. He’d done his lecture. "Enough of me," He continued. He waved his wand, and many more dummies appeared. He had planned to use the empty classroom, but unfortunately he’d not been quick enough, and lost out. "Push all the desks away and practice! If you don’t get it the first time, try again. If you have any problems raise your hand and I’ll come to help." He said, taking a seat on his desk and sipping his tea as he watched the students practice. "Once you feel you have perfected it, you are welcome to leave. And your homework, before you all rush out of here, is to read the chapter in your charms book on the disillusionment charm."
