Professor Spenser sat in the empty classroom waiting for the class to arrive. He was eager to begin the lecture he had planned for the day. When the class finally did get to their seats, Professor Spenser walked to the front of the room, holding a very old, very dusty book. "Alright! I'd like for all of you to take out your quills and papers and prepare to take notes. "Today’s lecture is going to be about the Labyrinth of Crete. The maze-or labyrinth-is central to one of the best known Greek myths about a hero's test of skill, the historical account of Theseus and the Minotaur. The Labyrinth was built on the island of Crete by Daedalus, perhaps the most able inventor of his time. It was created to hold the pet of King Minos-a man-eating monster with a bull's head and human body, known as the Minotaur. "At the time, Crete dominated Athens, which was forced to pay an annual tribute of seven young men and seven young women to Crete. Every year these unlucky souls were sent into the labyrinth, which was too confusing to escape, and were eaten by the Minotaur. One year Thesus, son of the Athenian king, was among the offerings. But Minos's daughter Ariadne fell in love with him before he entered the labyrinth. To save his life, she gave him a sword to kill the Minotaur and a ball of thread to trail behind him so he could find his way back. "Although Theseus proved ungrateful to Ariadne, after his success in the labyrinth he became one of the greatest kings of Athens." Professor Spenser stopped and smiled at the students. "You did well today, so I am not going to assign any homework for you! Thank you all for taking notes! Class dismissed!" Homework Assignment: This is going to be by far the easiest thing I give you to do. All I want you to do is RP this lecture. I am sticking to what I did last "year" in the fact whereas I will give a reward to the class if 50% or more of you do this assignment. Trust me, this one is worth it! 8 points for RP 2 points for Creativity |

Hanna Mitchelle Freecss was somehow feeling the right amount of energy to go to class. That was a rare thing to have for the Hufflepuff and so when she had gotten the chance, she had immediately gotten herself ready and already, as quick as lightning, entered the History of Magic classroom. It was not frequent that she would attend class at her own will. She was rather always forced by her conscience, but this time sure was different and she knew it. The young girl watched as the rest of the fourth years came piling in the classroom but she really did, groan in annoyance when she found out that today's History was going to be lecture. If she only knew firsthand, she would have decided not to attend. But what's done is done and she can't really turn back now so instead she listened to the lecture. It was quite rare for Mitch to be listening to History, but at the time, she was thinking that it probably wasn't as bad as she initially thought. There were no big names or places or dates that she had to cram into her brain. There were just plain events that she needed to know the sequence, well, at least that's what she thought. The young Hufflepuff merely scribbled notes unto a piece of parchment until Professor Spenser had announced the class to be done, which probably took ages in the eyes of the students. The Hufflepuff merely kept her things and zoomed out of the classroom to waste some more of her excess energy for the remaining hours of the day.

There was one problem that Sage had found she had with History of Magic, and that was that she liked the history of her country, and the magical people of her country, she was not so interested in the history of others places, which was fairly naive of her, but she honestly didn't care. The girl had found that other history just made her yawn. It was perhaps that she just didn't really know enough about them as it was, so she wasn't exactly knowledgeable about their current issues, so she wouldn't be able to see the connection with history. This was not however going to stop her going to the class. She found that the History of Magic professor was fairly cute. He made the lesson more bareable that she had ever thought it could be. Which was saying something at least. It wasn't the reason she'd ever give for going to the class, Sage was not interested in appearing overly shallow, but she really was just that. With that in mind the girl had gotten up in plenty time for the lesson, and gone about her morning with no extra rush or anything like that, she just made sure to keep an eye on the time, and never take overly long with anything. The girl made it to the room, and very quickly took her usual seat, she glanced to the front of the room, and realised that the professor wasn't there yet. She took the time before the start to just get ready, to put her book on the table, and take out what she needed to use when writing notes. She looked up at the professor when he began his lesson. She just as like everyone else took simple notes about what the professor was saying, finding this a little more interesting that other things. And well, the professor looked good, so it was easy to listen to him, and follow what he was saying. She felt like Ariadne had been silly to fall for such a person, and for him to have just been so stupid. it was at least a little bit interesting. She was happy when the class was brought to an end and the professor wrapped up what he was saying. She took the time to finish off her notes from the lecture and also make a note of what the homework was. With that done, the girl gathered her things and then left the room. |
