Professor Spenser sat leaning back in his chair. He was reading over the lesson plan for his second years. It was another lecture class, one he was giving a lot of recently. Due to this he had quickly given himself a very sore throat and had been told by one of the nurses to talk as little as possible for a week or so. He wasn’t one to argue with the nurses and he was sure his class wouldn’t mind a short period either. Jonathan watched as his class entered and took their seats. He saw a few taking out their writing equipment; he lifted his hand and waved it signalling for them to not bother. Standing up he moved closer to the students with a stack of papers in his hands. Moving between all the desks he placed on in front of each pupil. Making his way back to the front of his desk he spoke, or croaked as the case may be. ”Today will be cut short; I have been advised to not talk for long periods of time or I will loose my voice temporally, so I won’t be lecturing today.” He looked around the class seeing a few happy faces. ”So all I want is to read over the pieces of parchment I have given you as it will be on your exam. Class dismissed!

Madame Mim and Proteus:

One of the first wizards to show signs of animagus was a man named Proteus, a Gree. He had knowledge of the past, present, and future. Unfortunately, this meant he was often being asked for predictions. To get away from people, he would quickly transform into a variety of frightening creatures and animals.

Madame Mim was a sorcerer who was one of Merlin's most powerful foes. She had the ability to transform herself. During the greatest battle of all time against Merlin, Madame Mim transfigured herself into a mighty dragon. To that, Merlin turned himself into a field mouse and began nibbling on Madame Mims tail. She couldn't see him in the grass, so she turned into a furious and hungry cat. Once this happened, Merlin quickly turned into another cat. Madame Mim was so shocked at his change; she had thought he would become something more; it took her a moment to gather her wits. Soon enough, she transfigured into a dog. Once again, Merlin followed suit, becoming a dog. In a furious fit, Madame Mim decided to play at Merlin's own game. She decided to take on a defensive shape, in an attempt to force him into choosing shape. She quickly turned herself into a large oak tree. Merlin, in almost a mockery, turned himself into a small, powder blue bird, and flew up to perch on one of the oaks branches. While Merlin sat perching on the oak, Madame Mim erupted in a rage and suddenly turned herself into a large snake, poised to eat Merlin. Just as she was snapping her jaws shut, Merlin turned into a gnat, flying quickly to safety. Suddeny, Merlin and Madame Mim began changing shapes quickly, as quickly as thought. Finally Madame changed herself into an aullay; a very large horse with the trunk of an elephant. She charged at Merlin, who suddenly disappeared, he was nowhere to be seen. The aullay (Madame Mim) began to hiccup, turn red, swelled visibly, began whooping, came out in spots, staggered three times, rolled its eyes, and fell rumbling to the ground; falling to her death. Merlin reappeared; he had changed himself into the microbes of so many diseases and bombarded her with illness. So far ahead of his time, Merlin used medical properties to defeat his greatest foe.

Homework Assignment:

Just make sure you know the facts. All I want is an attendance post. Have a great week!

[justify]The week of lessons have begun and he was surprised that it was so soon. Matt Greene looked forward to leaving the lesson to go to see his baby brother. Mason had to be doing fine, but he was still worried over him and nothing would change that. Nothing at all. Matt looked down as he walked into the History of Magic classroom. Matt looked around before he ended up finding a seat. It took him a bit to find one because of the amount of first years, but it was making everything good for him. At least that was his opinion. He just wanted the lesson to begin. And soon. The lesson was apparently cut short today because the voice sounded bad. He received the paper before leaving the classroom upon dismissal. He read the piece of paper as he left the classroom, interested in the story.

[justify]Blaine Matthias thought that the second week would be longer than the first, but not as long as the third or fourth lessons because they were right in the middle of the school year. Blaine shrugged his shoulders and he would get this done somehow. He walked toward the classroom, his head held high and his Ravenclaw robes looking really good upon his body. His body was something he took great pride in, but his eyes were the most fetching thing about his appearance. Blaine took a lot of pride in it, and he looked around as he entered the History of Magic classroom, and found his place once more. He was positive that they were going to be doing something that he could benefit from this lesson. He was yearning for something like that. Blaine needed to know some things and he was going to be on top, somehow. He deserved that over his brothers. However, he was disappointed when the lecture was cut short. Blaine received his paper and left. He would read this when he was alone.

Annoying Amy

Donald loved History of Magic it was one of his favourite lessons, indeed it was his favourite non-practical lesson. He rushed into class and gave a teacher a large smile before taking his usual seat at the front of the class. The 12 year old was all eager as usually, taking out his book, quill and parchment ready to start learning all the exciting facts and figures about wizarding past.

He must have looked like a right little swot to some people but he didn't care, all he wanted to do was to crack on with the lesson. Maybe it was his over eagerness, his keenness, and general nerdyness was one of the reasons why the young boy didn't have any friends. Don didn't want to dwell on this thought for too long, although the loneliness did get to him a bit last year, his sister was with him now and he knew that she wouldn't let him get lonely. At least, he hoped that his older sister, Amy, wouldn't let him get lonely.

The 2nd year looked keenly at the professor, hoping that he would start soon. In part, now, to get the awful thoughts he was having out of his head, but mostly because he was still eager to get learning. So when the professor said the class would be cut short there was a very clear look of disappointed across the face of the youngster. He had been looking forward to History of Magic as well. The little boy slowly started to pack up his equipment again, with a clear downcast look, and left the class.

As he was leaving he did stop a boy that was in his house, What is his name? Donnie thought to himself for a minute. He couldn't think, but he guessed that it wouldn't do any harm to approach him to see if he wanted to become friends. Donald decided that he would do that....just as soon as his confidence found him, he never could get comfortable talking to new people especially if he was the one that was going to approach them.

Sleepily rolling out of bed, Lorin Finch stroked back his dark mop of hair. He began to wonder several things, one of these being the time period that had passed since his last haircut, and the other being what the clock face ticked as a calm reminder of the hour. It was fast nearing the time to get up. The boy stretched out his legs, a realisation of his growth in height suddenly evidential as the bottoms of his pyjama trousers darted up his calves.

The history of magic had always been a subject which enthralled the Ravenclaw youth, and he wandered cheerfully like a morning breeze into the assigned classroom, taking his seat in the same spot as he had done so the previous lesson. He liked Professor Spenser, too, for he seemed a fair and reasonable teacher, well worthy of his post within the school.
The lesson began and Lorin's thoughts quietened down. He drew from his bag both ink, quill, and, of course, a large stack of parchment on which to take his notes. He didn't mind lectures in the subject; after all, it was not every day that one should have the opportunity to learn about the greatest and darkest wizards and witches of the world.

The lesson was most abrupt in nature, which came as some surprise to the pre-prepared boy. Still, Lorin accepted the fact and also the sheets which they were handed. He read over it very carefully before leaving the class, studying each word as heavily as the next. With great care, the boy slipped the parchment and his own supplies inside of his school bag. He could focus much better in the comfort of the library, and it was there that the boy would spend the evening, as he had done with many others, buried in the words of a page, noting down any facts he felt to be the essential keys to unlocking the mind in practice for the end of year exam.

[justify]     Belladonna's elaborate plan to avoid certain people and stay hidden had backfired just as quickly as she had thought it up. Apparently, she had underestimated their will to make her miserable, and it was starting to get under Belladonna's skin very quickly. The young Gryffindor had a very quick temper so it was only a matter of time before they made her snap. Belladonna would love to make them just as miserable as they were making her but she wasn't brought up to be like that. her dad would never forgive her if she sunk that low. Belladonna sighed and stared down at the books she was carrying. If they kept it up, she was going to show them just how lovely of a person she could really be. Belladonna glanced at a nearby clock and frowned. Crap! She was going to be late! Belladonna clutched her books tightly and took off down the corridor. Belladonna wanted to maintain her grades in her classes this year, and being late was not going to help her in succeeding with that goal. Plus she was pretty excited for today's lesson, so she didn't want to miss out on anything they were going to be doing today.

Belladonna made it with only seconds to spare, and smiled apologetically as she took a seat. Apparently the Professor wasn't going to be doing much lecturing today anyways. They were given a piece of parchment to read over and then that was that. Belladonna shook her head, but began to read anyways. It only took her a little bit of time to read what she needed to read, as well as underline the facts she felt were important. The young Gryffindor was happy for an easy day, but she vaguely wondered what she was going to do with the rest of her time. After the reading was done, Belladonna got up and left.
