Charms, All Years | Passionate | Laid Back

It was a good feeling, the start of term. He was very happy to be back and in his usual position as the Charms professor. As a part of him had believed that he would not actually be keeping this job, that he was a fairly awful professor, but the opposite was true. All of his students had done exceeding well, and he was back for another lot. He knew the students now, they were the fifth year class moving on and upwards, he hoped that they were ready to learn more amazing charms, he was glad that he didn't really have to do introductions, though this was a what-we're-doing sort of lesson, and was necessary even for those students in the highest year. As the charms professor for only the elder years, unlike his fellow charms professor he had little in the way of a full time table, and he liked it as such. He wasn't good with busy, he was glad that in his first years as a full time professor he had the best students, the brightest, and those less likely to mess around in his class. As the time for the first lesson of the year, the professor made himself his very usual cup of earl grey tea. There was no reason for why this tea was the one he drank, just that it was good, and there was always an abundance of it in the muggle stores he bought it from. Though he much preferred Russian Earl grey. As soon as the tea was ready, he went into his classroom, and sat down on the tabled, slightly perched as was the norm. Just because he'd been six or so weeks without classes didn't mean that his routine changed. Once all of the students had filtered into the class, Misha stood up from his seat on the table, and gave the class a welcoming and friendly smile. "Welcome back to Charms, sixth years. I hope you've all had an amazing winter holiday, I did. But, it's time to get focused on work. This is an important year for you sixth year" Said Misha with a smile, while examining the room. He had that, wide eyed new teacher full of hope look, he was moving around the front of the room, sure to take a good look at his first students of the year. He stopped however, once he was finished with introductions, and leaned against his desk as he continued "Today's lesson will unfortunately be brief but I must tell you all that your continuation with this class is admirable, and I am quite pleased to see that many of you have decided to continue it." He paused, taking a small breath before continuing, "I may be a little biased but I believe that Charms is one of the most important areas of study. Charms are used in the Wizarding world on a daily basis, and I believe that even if you don't pursue a career relating to charms, you will find that you will be utilizing charms frequently throughout your life." Said Misha looking at each of his students, wanting to make sure that they were all paying attention. With a flick of his wand towards the board, the chalk began to write out the outline for this year's course in the subject.
Nodding as the chalk dropped from the board, he turned back to fully face his students. "As you can see the list of spells that we will be covering this year is rather short compared to previous years, however, they require much more work to master. Not to mention, they are a lot more interesting." He gave the class a smile, before continuing "I promise you, next year, in your final year at Hogwarts, we will be covering a much longer list of useful charms; if we are lucky we may even get to the Patronus." Misha finished with a small wink to his students, knowing that some of them would be excited. He had been excited over learning to conjure a patronus. Having completed his rather brief lecture, He stated, "You may leave, if you have any questions I'll be sticking around here for a bit. And of course my office door is always open. See you all next week." Misha then proceeded to going back to standing in front of his desk in a friendly manner in case any of the students decided they did have questions for him. ~RP the lesson |
