Andy made her way down the staircase to the entrance hall, she was warm now and dry at least. The rain had hit her hard and soaked her to the bone. At first it had been a welcome distraction but then she had seen Brian flying. He had made the silliest of apologies in her mind and she had reacted as she always did, defensively.
She sighed, they always seemed to be at logger heads as much as they enjoyed being friends, they also seemed intent on hurting one another. She didn't understand it at all.
Andy walked into the Great Hall, it was relatively quiet for this time of day. She chose to walk towards one of the back tables in the far left corner. She sat down and wrapped her arms around her big Gryffindor jumper. She snuggled into it to keep warm, the rain had chilled her to the bone.
She had washed and changed and tried her best to rationalise why herself and Brian behaved as they did to one another. She didn't hate him though sometimes he made it very easy to do so. Andy sighed and rested her head in her hands.
She smiled to herself as she remembered their train ride together, how they had made their pact and gotten to know each other so well. She saw him laughing at some silly thing she had said or done, his brown eyes wrinkling up into a grin.
She remembered the arguements they had and the teasing they shared. She considered him one of her bestfriends, no matter what they had said or done to one another. Then a thought occured to her and she gasped. It was so audible that she looked about to make sure that no-one else had heard it. She shook her head. NO! she didn't like him like that, she told herself. She couldn't and yet it made perfect sense to her. It almost made the most sense out of anything else in her mixed up crazy life.
In that moment of realisation only one thought also entered Andy's head which broke her heart and sent her spiralling in her mind. Zuka really liked Brian. Zuka was Andy's other best friend. She closed her eyes and wished she was any where else but here.
